@scotttebben I think that Christianity is not a cause but a symptom. People prone to depression tend to try and cling to a religion to help give life meaning. This is not inherently a bad thing because I know someone who was on the verge of suicide, but then went to church and their life improved greatly. I also know that religion can keep some people depressed and in poverty due to their belief that their suffering is just a test from God, so they do nothing to improve it.

Why do people make videos while driving? Why do people make videos while driving? Only two things can happen: your video will suck because you have to pay attention to the road and therefore lost your train of thought a lot, or 2. your video will be awesome because you crash. Maybe I have too much empathy for the human condition, but I think people should be treated with at least a minimal level of compassion and understanding regardless.

As for me, this is only a part of my life and I keep my involvement relative to the remaining events. For what I have seen my suspicions is that this becomes their society. A circular argument would be something like; I know the planets are spheres because spheres are the same shape as planets.
This is different from a logical tautology such as A is A, A is not not A.
A scientific argument would be; I know the planets are spheres due to multiple convergent observations which demonstrate the sphere shape of the planet.

I forget the exact phrasing of the decision (which would make it clear what is exactly excluded as protected free speech), but free speech is limited in cases where it endangers the public who hears it. Re. Libertarians ascribing all ills to government. I dont agree, but you said, ...if [life] really were that simple, everyone, or at least all economists, would be libertarians... How is this? In what other group does everyone do the same thing or hold the same opinions? All farmers want the best crop they can get. Do they all plant their corn at the same time, put the same fertilizer and the same amount of fertilizer on it, cut it at the same time?
