  • sami are shaman people from central siberia

  • whats up with all this Christian hate.... The Sami still have they're culture and religion in tact.... calm down...

  • im full blood european born in usa and im fg pagan i love u sami we pagans and sami are the true earth ppl in europe ...........pagan pride ............blass it be

  • @skynetlover Whats skynet?

  • I am an atheist, but i find the loos of the sami religion a shame. Not becasue i think religion is needed in a well going modern comunity, but because a religion contain filosofi, which maybe can be a good inspiration. A thing i already like about the sami religion, is the respect of nature.

Can any one tell me if there some who still practice it? like some people pratice Asatro

  • To the Christians -I believe in Gods, not God. My Scandinavian and German ancestors were polytheist and I continue to believe in the religion that they once worshiped. It is not wrong to believe in faith but its wrong to believe in a religion of oppression and of violence like Christianity.

I should also think that the Saami have a right to worship their ancestral faith. Let them flourish and revive their old ways peacefully without conflict.

    Lucinda.

  • I find it terribly sad that this video depcits the Saami as replacing their native religion with Christianity. The video states that they did this because Christianity saved them from being alcoholics. Is this true? What and who is the source of this information? Is it biased towards Christians? I am a Pagan and follow Asatru, which is the native religion of the English peoples. I am tired of seeing Christianity everywhere, and as an ethnic English person I slough it off.

  • I am an Indigenous from Colombia and I'm very proud of my Native American culture.

I am not Christian but believe in shamanism,

because that is what my ancestors have believed in.

  • yet another example of cultural decay.

  • Root is root and all people arem irritated cause of cutting (christianisation) the roots

  • I wish Sami people all well and good future:)

  • It's simple: the Religion that castrated Vikings and brought them under Roman rule, used to subdue the Sami, who never sacked Rome like the Vikings did, but, the Sami had a religion, and way of life that paid no taxes to the government, or tithes to the priests; it had to go. I Really hope it did save SOME Sami from alcohol etc., they are beautiful people. But, Rome dumped Christs's message of personally connecting with God -Gnossis- it's just monetary and mental slavery now. God bless the Sami.

  • Sami genocide in sweden, norway.indo european is a terorist cristian

  • Sami sami joika joika

  • Did anyone notice the upside down cross the priest is wearing at 4:25

  • @wischswmw You are right, Very strange for a priest to wear that.

  • "The Sami are a Christian people.."

    Really? Cause last I checked, they're a Finno-Uralic people, not a Judo-Semitic people.

  • @Svindsson - You're talking about language, not religion.

  • @dinkytown100 Culture and language are invariably linked. Language is the vocal symbology in which a people express their perception of reality, just the same as any pictorial representation of art. Language as a medium of transferring cultural lore, and solidifying cultural identity. Therfore, language is as much a part of world view as anything else. Now, in a sense, you correct, it can be seen that religion is not the same as world view-it is largely ideological, focusing on theological and..

  • @dinkytown100 dogmatic concepts. This is what actually makes religions weak, they are not able to fully integrate into the practitioners life, and they do not address all issues of existence, leaving several issues or aspects of the practitioner in which the creed has no advice, or in the cases of conversion, often leaves traces of previous spiritual thought in tact in certain areas, such as sayings or certain social institutions. And no Semitic people? They're not Indo-European, so what then?

  • @Svindsson You're talking about language, which is Finno-Uralic. The're talking about religion. There is no such thing as a Judo-Semitic.

  • I hope the old religions survives and the sami people will take it back. As i hope the "vikings" will dump christianity and take asatró back.

Asatró has now law, it uses common sense and wisdom as guidlines

  • If they feel christianity is not alien, imported faith.

How would you explain All seeing eye symbol on top at 0:25

  • @elvistheelvis

    > How would you explain All seeing eye symbol on top at 0:25

As being a representation of the trinitiy?

  • Fuck religion and fuck those drums.

  • yea, those drums suck...

  • I'm glad the church is contrite, they should be, has the church given the drums back?

The "Book" religions are going to destroy the world.

  • most drums were burnt

  • exactly.

  • SAMI, iam mee

valhoundmom -you wrote "The "Book" religions are going to destroy the world"

Yes, that seems to be their aim!

Take the magi out of magic

and given em an empty, dead belief system

  • @valhoundmom They have caused more harme than good

  • but sadly it is an imported religion

  • Yes, and Christianity have also erased much of our knowledge in their early religion and traditions.

  • Often imports don't sit well, eventually.

  • This is nauseating.

  • turks had shamans pre-muslim time

  • I agree

  • this makes me fucking sick. To see my people worshiping the same religion the tried to kill us off for not believing in Jesus. I wish I could go over there and whipe these Christian fucks out. And just to let this person know, the multipul gods think comes from Norse influence. We origionally believed in one God. Frankly I wouldn't want the church's help. I'd be happy if they fucked right off and gave us our religion back.

  • More and more people are returning to their ancestral faiths. Christ was cool, but Christians have not been.

  • i second that

  • The Saami have had to endure the same as the American Indian here in the states between the government and the missionaries they did their best to commit mass genocide they were punished or killed for using their native tounge sent to white christian schools they were taught their native beliefs were of Satan I am of Saami blood was adopted by a fullblood Mohawk Indian was raised as such The saami way of life runs side by side with the American Indian both will rise again

  • The way I was shown was that Saami and Ojibway beliefs are almost identical. Strange how I just happened to get an Ojibway girlfriend 2 months before I found out I was Saami. We were ment to find each other.

  • was this also in finland?

  • wow! thats quite an upbringing! Having coming across the Sami I have noticed that the lifestyle and beliefs are VERY similar and in some parts almost identical. Very interesting to say they are dividing by a big ocean thus not influencing each other....very interesting

  • Yeh, I think its sad to see a tribe to loose its religous roots, especially when its based on nature not money and power like most other religions!

  • thank you, i am sami, its unbarable to see your culture destroyed.

  • why don't you just let ppl believe what the fuck they want? you got issues, deal with them..

you want your old religion back??? boohhooo, I'm crying...too bad you're born 200 years too late, get over it.

  • @RazorVrakking If you think the christians of the past was so horrible, then do you want to copy their acts?

I dislike christianity too for many of the same reasons as you. In the middle ages similar things happened in Denmark. But i dont blame any modern christian for things they havent taken part in, and i have the freedome to practice my haritage, and to spread it.

And as an atheist, i show how stupid and horrible the bible is, it is non violent and funny to do :b

  • Saami people Turanian people, I am Turkish, Fucking indo europeans,,

    Saami Uralic-Altay people

    I am Turkish Altay people

    Saami people URALIC

    Turanian people

    Long live saami people

  • I hope the Saami preserve their pagan roots, I am absolutely amazed by their traditions. =D

  • from the beginning all Saami and all other people of the world were pagans and shaman. Christianity, islam and others are the sects where Saami people were forced to get in.

Saami, brothers and sisters, fight for your native pagan and shaman faith!!!!!

  • Well said!

  • Fuck Christianity

  • It would be nice if there was one corner of the world, just one, that is not tainted by the arrogant and hungry reach of Christendom

  • Couldn't agree more. Its presence can be felt everywhere nowadays.

  • Hopefully the Saami are writing down thier own pre-christain beliefs before they are lost....

  • It's a little sad that the video is talking about Norway only. The Sami people is one people not one nation in our "modern way of speaking" and their culture is spread over a number of countries in the northern area.

  • I have visited this place called Guovdageaidnu (Koutokeino or Kautokeino in finnish :D )and it's a quiet but beautiful place :D

  • christians again, they get everywhere don't they, a nasty religion that uses red hot pokers and murder to ensure you eventually believe in a god that you can grovel and beg to instead of one that you can thank for providing all that you need.

    Thanks for the clip.

  • Our minds are same in the matter auntyangela :)

  • @auntyangela what the hell... that's not the Christians I know...
