  • My Andis clippers are by inch sizes of what length the hair will be when use them. I like the length on his head. When you cut the top of his head, the size comb you used will leave the hair how long in inches.

    Thanks

  • Which clipper set are you using? Please let me know. =)

    Thank you.

  • thx this helped me alot

  • You're video's are fantastic - i qualified as a groomer early this year but had forgotten alot, so the video's have been a great help. Do you have any grooming a bicon or a puppy/teddy clip for a shih-tzu?

Also please could you tell me what make and size straight and curved shears you use?

And again, thank you so much for the help you have given in you're video's!!!

  • Have you got an instructional video we can buy with all of it!! I would love to buy a copy!

  • wow... I really appreciate this! Been looking for something to help with my two yorkies. They are thinner, and longer, but this is so helpful for the face and body. Best I have seen so far! Thanks! More please!

  • Do you use #4 for the body?

  • @ladybug1951 What I meant was how much hair if left with the numberd blade you use. But I figured it out with mine. I'm glad hair grows fast on him. =] Still don't have it all down. But I'm learning. How many teeth are in your thinning shears? I think mine have too much of a space between the teeth. Not real smooth look.

  • You're such a gentle and sweet groomer. I wish I could clone you ;O) Thanks

  • You said the face first but did the sanitary first. Saw you changed blades.

Can you tell me the sizes in inches? 15, 10, & 40? My attachments are by inch size. Didn't say what size blade used for the top of the & top sides. Do you cut the beard or leave it one length? I'll watch your other videos to see if you did in them. Not criticizing, just asking please.

When I went to inside the paws, he yelped like I cut him, but didn't. Do you actually go between the pads?

    Thank you!!!

  • @ladybug1951 Not sure what you mean by your sizes being in inches... do you have the metal detattchable blades or the plastic snap on comb attatchments? I use the same blade on his head and behind his ears as I did on his body... hope that helps you on that question. I do go between the pads but you have to be careful and gentle. Some dogs wont' tolerate it or just don't like it... I always use a 40 blade for the paw pads ONLY.

  • @spanielmom93 I have the Andis clipper with plastic attachments. The sizes go by inches. I am wanting to know how much hair is left with yours. A #10 would leave the hair how long after clipping. Does that make sense? Same on the 15 and 40.

Example, a #10 leaves the hair on the body 1 inch long. Not that it does. That's what I need to know.

The one that is on it, I am assuming is the shortest, but it adjusts with a lever on the side to make the bottom part come out longer. Not sure why. Do you?

  • So when you do a shorter blade on the body and longer on the legs, do you use the shorter blade on the bum at all or would you just use the longer blade? Also, is this style of cut called a "kennel cut"? Thanks.

  • awwww he's so cute :)

  • How do you "tip" the ears on the regular cut for a yorkie? Thanks.

  • @mykeee I use a 40 blade and I shave the last half inch or so of the tip of the ear. I will be posting a video on it soon so just keep checking back. ;)

  • aww his cute

  • thanks for your quick reply...going to buy some andis clippers...the blades i have fit andis and oyster...so let you know how i get on...great to talk to you... i'm from sunny scotland uk...lol thanks again for your help....

  • you make this look so easy....what is the make of clippers you are using....i got masterclip with the changeable blades but it dosent seem to cut ,it's as if their coat is to thick and the blade sticks..please help love the video and decided to try myself i have three yorkies and reno is the double of my max ..thanks again

  • @isabell607 HI there and Thanks. It really is easy if you get the right equipment, I've never heard of masterclip so that is probably not a good thing LOL :) I use Andis clippers, check out my video "clippers and blades" it should help you. ;)

  • which blade do i use for body ?

  • @palmcityyorkies You can use whatever blade you like, please watch my video on clippers and blades. ;)

  • Reno is so fat but so cute...I see why people confuse my little yorkie for a tea cup when there are puggy ones like this. Love his cut, next time I'm going to try the 7 blade on my yorkie see if I can get him to look remotely like this

  • @AngelMicheleMUA Reno is not really very fat.. he is made a bit differently then most yorkies I've met though. Just so you know though there is no such thing as a "teacup" yorkie... they are all supposed to be under 5lbs... the "backyard" breeders and "puppy mills" have created the term "teacup" just to make more money. ;)

  • @spanielmom93 Correct, they are greeders, not breeders! Reno is adorable!

  • I pay $45 for a groom session for my yorkie. I also have a bigger size yorkie who is 9lbs. at 8 months. Your video is very informative. Thanks?

  • Your videos are great BUT the videos are really dark. You may use more lighting?

  • I have two Yorkies and pay $25 a dog every six weeks. I'd love to learn to groom them but Im scared to try I'll leave it to the professionals!

  • Yorkies are my least favorite dogs to groom. This little guy is so good...90% of the yorkies that I groom are pretty mean. This was a good video!

  • I just found your yorkie video this weekend! I love it! I have really learned a lot watching this. I have watched it over and over again... Hope I can groom my yorkie as good as you do Reno one day! Do you have a video for a pet cut for Maltese?

  • looks like a yorkie x pug :3 but ik its not lol thats a big yorkie!

  • Great video. Planning on getting a Yorkie. U didn't say what # blade you used for the body.

    Thanks 4 sharing. :O)

  • @MimiChula003 I used a 7 on the body and a 4 on the legs. ;)

  • that's a bigger than normal Yorkie, is she sure it isn't a mix or mutt, it has the Yorkie coat but that's a BIG yorkie it looks like Reno got muscles

  • @FamousJennifer14 Yorkies can weight up to about 15lbs. The breed "standard" is for a smaller size than that, but large purebred yorkies do occur. :)

  • I got three Yorkies!!!! It costs me £25 a pop to get them done. They are not show dogs so I keep them cropped very short. I guess that would be about $120 a go! Still, they are worth every penny!

  • Fantastic vid! It costs me $50 a pop to get my lil guy groomed and I want to do it myself so this is a great guide. Thanks!

  • WOW! Wish I got $50 for a Yorkie LOL I charge half that! ;)

  • how much does it usually cost to groom a yorkie???

  • Sorry I really can't answer that... Each groomer charges a different price so you would need to check around in your area. I personally charge $25.. but I am in an inexpensive area.

  • well done! very professional and informative, and reno is a well behaved Yorkie! 5 stars :)

  • Thank you that is very nice! :)
