I use a bb torch 9800 and although the virtual key board is good, I still prefer to use the physical keyboard just because I can see more of the screen. I email a lot, so I want to make use that I don't mess up....

The problem with a virtual keyboard is that it takes up half of the screen. That's all. Plain and simple.

Either way, virtual keyboard is poop. No matter what phone I have (even iPhone!) It can't keep up with my typing speed, if I had a choice I would choose BlackBerry 9900 over this poop

@tv321123 this is kinda slow for typing haha. I was outstripping this guy on my envy 3 in high school. Hahaha, I type faster than this on Droid X or I did when Gingerbread didn't break my multitouch keyboard....

@GummiBands yep, for some reason tho I can not type on android phones, I had a droid x and resently changed to a evo 3d and evan when using a 3ed party keybord i still cant type fast (or at all really) on android phones. and i was also typing muck faster that him way back when i had a lg voyager

I dislike Touch Screen only phones, which is why I own a BlackBerry Bold....QWERTY Keyboard > Anything strictly touch screen

sorry, but if i want a virtual keyboard i would get an andriod. I get bb because how great the physical keyboard is. I also must add my typing speed on the virtual one is about the same as you but i am much muchhhh faster on the physical one that you are.

Great video! I personally prefer the reduced keyboard while in portrait because of the bigger buttons. Makes typing with one hand easier.

But the virtual keyboard on the BlackBerry is very, very good in regards to its ability to predict and correct as one types. I just typed this response on the virtual keyboard. No problems at all.

I find the virtual keyboard too slow and sluggish for me on the 9800. Granted it's better than my old Storm 1, but the only reason I won't touch the 9850/60 is because I don't trust BB vkb. It's also the reason I won't move to iAnything or touch-only phones elsewhere.

Lately, I've been using the virtual keyboard more than the physical keyboard. When I originally got my Torch, I despised the VKB; Now, I can't stop using it. With the most recent OS6 version, typing on the virtual is more accurate and precise.

Physical Keyboard is so important for me as I always mix or switch between Chinese english or malay wording within context.

@TX2010 o ya, I currently own a Bold and will always stick with Bold form factor as I don't favor phone with weight over than a Bold. :P

keep 2 keyboard is kinda ridiculous to me like doing double job is non sense. :x

Typing in physical keyboard with all the shortcut keys gives me the flexibility and speed typing especially with random capital or non capital or numbers or symbols and languages. Cheers!

That was the part that made me laugh. iPhone and WP7 have the best virtual keyboards. I wish this guy would let me challenge him to a type off. I would murder him on laggy beta software...

Virtual keyboards don't require any physical pressure from touch (capacitive touchscreens) which means less travel your thumbs do to get to the next letter.

typing on a keyboard is a very personal thing and i personally find that the fixed keyboards are not necessarily quicker but more enjoyable due to the tactile feedback
