As an actor myself I can say for certain that you form a very special bond to the people you play against. Mainly because you work so intimately with each other it is sort of expected. I could write a five page letter about this phenomenon but the essence is:

@HighwayJoe Love that you used the Kinsey Scale, and I agree. Jude definitely seems to love women as he is a bit of a womaniser, but I do think he can feel drawn to men as well. Either way, he seems comfortable with his sexuality, and I think that's wonderful. If he is indeed attracted to men as well as women, and will not admit to it, I would think it would be because coming out as anything but straight in Hollywood could possibly limit your offers and success as an actor.

@TheCarlScharnberg True. Although, Jude has made a career already out of playing either fully gay, bisexual, or ambiguous characters, so his movie choices may not be that adversely affected. He might be typecast more often--but look at Neil Patrick Harris. He's all and all out of the closet, and plays a hetero womanizer on a popular TV show. I think it may just be getting easier for gay/bisexual actors to get more than "Flamboyant Gay Friend" roles.
