  • Where on earth did you get 6lb of Mercury?

  • This reminded me of Terminator 2

  • thats how you neuter T1000

  • Where did you get that much mercury

  • wouldve been ok if u added the sound of it..

  • Once again, you've got all the neat toys, Jeff. Lol. You make me jealous. Heheh

  • Hey mate, have you ever thought about investigating the behaviour of ferrofluid under these sort of conditions? I don't have a high speed camera but I have a feeling that watching small particles of ferrofluid being attracted to one-another in ultra slow motion would be fascinating.

Just a thought. Keep up the good work.

  • @sta0005 apply a small magnetic force under the container as well to see it splash at first then take a crazy spike form

  • Okay, that vortex it makes as all the energy attempts to pass each other in the center is pretty wicked awesome.

  • Hey,

I have had some mercury for a long time, but it has developed a layer of oxide or something on the outside that disrupts the shiny nature of it. It doesn't look very good and I was wondering if you have had this problem and how to remedy it. Thanks!

  • @AnythingSlowMotion I've see that oxide on the top before. I have been able to remove it by lining a bowl with a paper towel and carefully roll the mercury in that.

  • @taofledermaus awesomeness. i wish i had mercury but im only 13 didn't people a long time ago my grandpa said they played with mercury in class like on their bare hands & stuff

  • @MarcoLueftner14

Nice life story. Sorry I feel asleep while you told us.

  • @vikingraider btw i am not english

  • @vikingraider a glass bowl/bubble thing without air in it so its a vacum

  • @vikingraider i was talking about

  • what is mercury I'm only 11

  • @robsnobsproductions I think Wikipedia would probably do a better job of explaining it. It is a "liquid metal" that has/had many uses, from thermometers, manometers, thermostats, used as a switch in cars that would turn the trunk light on when the trunk was opened, etc.

  • @robsnobsproductions mercury is a metal a liquid metal it is toxic. one small little drop could lead to death

  • @taliati25 no it won't. it's safe enough on bare skin. just don't ingest it.

  • @knightoflambda its toxic to skin elemental mercury is not toxic

  • @taliati25 If you're talking about just Hg, it's not toxic on your skin. When chemists say mercury, they mean Hg. When you say elemental mercury, you mean Hg.

Compounds with mercury tend to be toxic. In this video though, it's pretty clear he's dealing with "elemental mercury", or Hg.

  • @knightoflambda oh ok i thought he was using mercury no hg

  • @robsnobsproductions its what terminators and nightmares are made out of.

  • @robsnobsproductions mercury is a metal that is liquid at room temperature. and is VERY toxic

  • EPIC

  • Sick

  • love the sound effects

  • I really want to see how it looks if you take a glass bubble and pump all the air out and then let it fall on the ground in slow motion

  • @eierstok27 Wouldn't that be like a light bulb?

  • @taofledermaus

Light bulbs are filled with an inert gas.

  • @eierstok27 What do you propose to replace the air WITH!!?? Nothing?: then it would just implode on itself right after you started: glass is fragile.

  • I felt the need to verbalize a second request to try to wipe up mercury with a paper towel. Always wanted to see or try that.

  • I wonder how effective a liquid metal shotgun shell would be. Perhaps you could use gallium for it.

  • @TheDknbl Contact supersoaker, they've cornered the market on guns that shoot liquid.

  • the terminator called.. he wants his dick back

  • it`s like a terminator

  • it's like watching fireworks.

  • I love how mercury flow patterns look like early CG liquid lol

  • Did any escape? liquids can project and eject particles from above their dropping height.

  • what camera are you guys using & how much did you pay for it? please respond and sweet video!!

  • @MSGstudios I used two Casio EXF1 Pro cameras. They were about $1000 each.

  • @taofledermaus Thanks!

  • terminator

  • how on earth did you fill up the balloon??

  • @mhc226 I just poured it in through a funnel.

  • Anyone else thirsty after watching this?

  • That was waaaayyy cooler than I thought it would be. For a split second, you made a mirror!

  • @EdgunUSA I keep thinking how far the splash would go if it were to just hit the ground. It would probably go 50 feet in all directions. Very weird stuff! Thanks for watching!

  • Cool sound effects brah.

  • Awesome! Looks weird! LOL! Liked!!

  • @JesseAndMike Thanks guys! Aren't you the guys who have that crazy GIANT SNAKE video? That is awesome!

  • beautiful

  • how much was that shizz?

  • I realized after I subscribed that I have seen tons of your videos and never realized it was all from the same uploader, haha

Glad I subscribed because you actually upload often.

    =]

  • @conn0r644 I tend to upload a mixed variety of stuff, some of it may interest you, other stuff probably not. Thanks for stopping by!

  • @taofledermaus Well, so far, I like what I see. Ha

  • And this, kids; is what the pee from the fluid terminator looks like...

  • mercury? dangerous? nah, it's AMD's new sports drink.

  • Heavy metal.

  • How on Earth did you get you hands on this? (Never looked for Mercury, just assuming it's hard to find)

  • OOHHH NOOOOO!! SILVER SURFER IS BACK!!! :O

  • Def the coolest thing I've ever seen!

    Awesome job, Jeff!

  • these days everybody wants to go faster. it is nice of you to help us slow down. sometimes something simple can be amazing when looked at from a different prospective.

thanks for doing another badass vid. YOU ARE THE MAN!

  • @phishintube the first quote dosent even make since

  • @phishintube Thank you!

  • Pretty damn cool!

  • that was fuckin cool

  • wow super cool to watch what it does inside the bucket. It seems to "stick together" ...that's about the extent of my scientific lingo

  • @0:04 who wants mercury on there burgers & hotdogs !

  • "Photon" would approve of this vid :P now thats mercury compared to whats in the cfl's

  • @daewooparts I am going to break open a curlie CFL and see how much mercury is actually in it. I don't recall seeing anyone actually showing how much is in there, and what to look for IF/WHEN it is broken inside one's home.

  • @taofledermaus those have about as much mercury as a can of tuna ! its way overhyped that they contain mercury , some HID discharge bulbs have way more in them

  • Thanks for the upload!

Fascinating to see how the mercury jumps up at the sides then falls back down to form a swirl in the center! You can remove gas mask now.

  • @SamIves85 It almost splashed higher than the level it was popped at. Very weird stuff!

  • @taofledermaus Are you planning on doing more experiments like that then?

  • @SamIves85 Yeah, if I can think of anything.

  • Very Cool

  • "You can remove gas mask now." lol

  • Awesome

  • It's the T-1000 hitting a wall at high speeds!!

  • How did you get Chuck Norris to piss in a balloon?

  • Reminds me of the experiment where they put corn starch on a speaker.

  • Terminator T-1000 poop

  • That was awesome!

  • @Hiluxtaco Thank you!

  • Thanks, I really wanted to know what it looks like after the splash.

  • cool

  • Next video,...

Pour it down a water well,... let's see what happens...

  • Wow!! that looked like it was going to be a Superfund site for a second!! glad it stayed in the bucket...now take it inside and show us how it reacts to being poured on the carpet....jk.

Be careful with that stuff, Genghis Khan used to drink mercury and look what kind of attitude he had....

  • Way too cool, and what a unique video. I haven't seen something like this done before either.

  • Now that was way cool!

  • Something so deadly has to be so beautiful.

  • I want to see how ineffective it would be to wipe that up with a paper towel! I'm serious.

  • @TheMotorick I've had to clean up some pretty large mercury spills (at my job) and it is a pain. A dustpan and a small broom works pretty well. Syringes are ok to get it out of cracks in the floor, etc. Just a slow tedious process.

  • i hope you safely poured that in the sewer when you were done and not the grass

  • @NaplesSwampRat Lol what?

  • @NaplesSwampRat Sure it's a heavy metal, but it's not nearly as dangerous as people make it to be. Handling it with your bare hand for a few minutes isn't going to hurt you. Unless you do something stupid like drink it.

  • @NaplesSwampRat (I think people thought you were being serious!)

  • indeed the splash was way more amazing than poping the balloon

  • Love this stuff, i reckon do more of firing stupid stuff at toys/mannequins that was the most funny...

  • @1:01 .....I was gonna mention that but I guess y'all already considered the vapors.

  • wow check that out! that was awesome.

  • @chaos311clarity Thanks man!

  • I want that much mercury to play with too !!!!

  • @GunWebsites I was going to put all 12lbs in a single balloon but the balloon couldn't hold it.

  • @GunWebsites I would sure like to play with the most toxic non-radioactive substance on the planet too!

  • Lamest liquid metal man ever, lol

    JK, that's fucking boss

  • wtf that was sick!

  • Cool Vids by the way...

  • @Humblepain1 Thank you!

  • I AM 1st!
