Well done! I really enjoyed the live sound and the background that gave it an old world feel and appearance, so fitting for this piece. Expertly and passionately played!
That is very gracious! Since I was not ready to play the piece at as fast as most, I really worked on the facet I could control (interpretation), your comment makes me feel great about that.
I have seen several of your concerts. You have MATURED a great deal since this performance. In Fla, you were mostly know as an electric player. Good to see you here
Do you perhaps know Orlando Roman, Robert Kellogg, Dimitri Diachenko? Just curious as they were my peers at stetson. If you watch the Savio Batucada, it is Orlando's head in the way of most of the piece. Thanks again the correspondence is great.
I am really better known as an electric player, but was able to teach classical guitar on the college level for 7 years. I feel I am a much better player now. I had only had that Humphrey a few months and not only was a new classical player but the Millenium's take a while to learn how to play.
Again, thanks for your kind words. You are in a great program. When the time comes contact me and I may be able to arrange some gigs at some VA colleges for you.
Yes it is slow. However, I teach my students to play something only at a tempo which they can play musically. I hope I pulled that off. Also, I have always been an electric player. So both my classical or electric play suffer as a result. Per your question about the gtr. There are many mixed reviews. One thing I will say, is that my cedar top is one of the loudest guitars I've ever heard. However, it keeps you honest, you can hear every mistake. For a list of T.H. players respond to this.
You know, for the simple fact that you admitted that, I applaud you, most instrumentalists don't realize that at ALL. This is a really great performance and don't rush it at all. You're doing well. Kal, classical guitar masters student at Florida State University. Cheers!
Thanks very much!! I have plsyed for B. Holtzman several times. I graduated from Stetson under S. Robinson and R. Cobo. In fact, Adam Holtzman, called my performance of Sor 20, "One of the best inerpretations he had heard". I am sure that was streching it, but it made me feel good.
Nice! Ricardo is one of the main reasons I am here at FSU. I just heard Dr. Robinson play about 10 days ago and it was amazing. Good for you man! :) That is a nice compliment Adam paid you! Keep it up, practice well!
A very good interpretation. I enjoyed listening to you play.

It's a little bit slow but controlled. I respect that a lot. Speed means almost nothing without control.
How is the Humphrey? I was always curious to how they sounded.

Well a little much too slow for my taste, but really great sound and touch.
Thanks for sharing with us!

yes I was an Electric player turned classical, and it is too slow for me too. However, I elected to play it at a tempo which I wouldn't blow it.
Thanks so much for listening.
