No offence @opiumpoem, but Markus did an improving contribution with this remix to the original Cass&Slide track. Same thing occured with the vocals, Justine Suissa is a top vocalist.

As I mentioned, I dislike trance generally, so I'm not a particularly good judge of what's good in the genre. The original is a track which I have many good memories around. Parties that last for days, music that rewards you for introspection etc.

This video and track just appeals to something entirely different. It's too sped up, too... glamorous?

@arpicarnival I agree, I dont get why all the hate. The original track was gorgeous and didn't need a lot of remixing, and I think Markus realized that. All he did was inject the track with a little more life, but kept the essence the same. As far as Justine's vocals, I dont get why all the hate on her either. She has such a gorgeous, mellow, yet rich tone...its not as high pitched as the original vocalist, which I personally found less pleasing to listen to.

As a rule of thumb, I sorely dislike trance. I find it rather dull, repetitive, and unlikely to actually bring anyone into a "trance". The original version of this track, by Cass & Slide, however, is an exceptional piece of electronic music.

This remix was unnecessary. Vocals disrupt the introspective nature of the track, and the video itself plays on every electronic music cliche possible.

@JCrownwell I agree that Justine has beautiful, and one of the best I might add, vocal capabilities trance music has ever encountered, her work with A&B is just amazing, breathtaking bliss. : )

However, there are some absolute classic TUNES that don't need to be remixed, this was one of them. I'm sorry, but for me Markus just ruined the whole song with some odd unfitting synths that play the same scores as the original, which is just a pure evidence that trance music isn't just what it once was.

Its not really all that different from Cass & Slide's original vocal mix of Perception - Justine's voice is similar to Naimee's and the synths are pretty much the same here too. Both versions are great, IMHO. This doesn't really seem any more or any less pop'ish than the original.
