Anyway, Dave has been the perfect vocal for this group because they have always been about the guitar work and not about the deep inner meaning to their lyrical abilities. Dave is a good showman and he has the right voice to add to their material. Sammy did alright but he is much better by himself.

Never was a big Van Halen fan, yet enjoy Sammy Haggar/ Seen the Stones 6 times in Seattle. Ac/Dc with Bon, yes. But have come to appreciate VH. Took my 9year old son, brother. and 13 yr old neice. VH was tight ! Rock 'n concert !

Well, they did tour before the 1980's..... in fact, they opened for Black Sabbath. Maybe you are all to young to recall. Anyway, Dave has been the perfect vocal for this group because they have always been about the guitar work and not about the deep inner meaning to their lyrical abilities. Dave is a good showman and he has the right voice to add to their material. Sammy did alright but he is much better by himself.

Dont get me wrong but the old VH accentuates the lead guitar because noone listened to whatever the hell dave was singing. Sam Van Halen had more butter up your gal lyrics, and ed wasnt as prominant,so he played the keyboards. Gary Cherone Van Halen was a mistake. That was bad. The bands these days are weak elevator music. No one remembers how hard these guys rocked before 1984. They kicked ass,but didnt need to tour because they were so popular in the US.

Roth was a showman in the day as well as the early voice of VH. I don't see that now but back in the day VH rocked better than most bands do today. Never was a big Van Halen fan, yet enjoy Sammy Haggar/ Seen the Stones 6 times in Seattle. Ac/Dc with Bon, yes. But have come to appreciate VH. Took my 9year old son, brother. and 13 yr old neice. VH was tight ! Rock 'n concert !
