Really only 7 days. Try working for 20 or 30 days straight yhen get back to me. Im tired of all these offshore pussys complaining about there little 7&7 hitches always cryin and shit. I work in the oilfield also and will do a 3 week hitch with no problem, go home for 2 days and hit it again. So FUCK 7 days. O and anybody thinkin about goin work on a rig, dont. Its probaly one of the worst jobs in the oilfield. Take my advice go be a service hand, a lot more money and not nearly the bitch work.

@Minion303 try it man. not for a few days or a week, give it a month. then you'll know if it's for you. you might be fit and that defininitly will help you out but but keep it mind that it's not all physical abuse. there's a mental aspect to it as well. you gotta be able to leave your feelings at home and take some shit when you're starting out.  most crews are pretty good people though, they just want to test you to see how much you can take.

&pulling in around $4 grand every two weeks helps

@spliff42007 lol, $4,000 every two weeks?!?! I worked on a service rig in Alberta, then decided to take on a better career and get a ticket in the steamfitter-pipefitter trade. Now I make $4,000 every week, just on the tools doing work 1/4 of the workload. Im making $5,000 a week now that Im a foreman. The oilfield is a great stepping stone, but dont think its the end of what you can do.
