The modern day twopence is 93% steel coated with 7% copper. The detector is reading the conductivity of both metals at the same time. The steel should read to the left and the copper to the right (respectively) of the spectrum scale. Looks like the White's is doing it's job of discriminating two different metals at once. I am not an expert, correct me if I am wrong. Nice video. HH
@setxdigger just confirming you are right about the discrimination, the content of our coins has got worse over the years so they used to be decent metal and easy to id, now they are mainly junk metal with a small coating so now its harder to id, but i,m not going to cry if i dont find some modern 2pences. the spectrum scale on the xlt i find is good and i trust it more than the sound and numbers it shows.
I had a crap test penny! Just one I threw one the floor to make sure I was getting a signal on my Bounty hunter Tracker 4. It was spitting and farting all over! I thought it was broke as I usually get a silk smooth signal with pennies.
@Krisje44 lol i didnt mean to have an outro, that was by accident, my editing goes a bit off sometimes, this was one of them, but i,m glad the quality of the picture was much better.
