For thos who don't really know the actual purpose of "kavadi aatems", here is some info. The reason biys dance in front of men/women carrying kavadis is to encourage and pump up the spirit of these devotees to pursue their journey to their destination (Murugan Temple). It is in no way to tarnish or downgrade Hindu people's believes / culture. The devotees in trance do need exhilirating support to walk barefooted all the way in the burning hot weather and dancing alongside with them DOES help..

i really hate this kind of dance... this is the reason other races look down on us.. hindu culture... whoever it is .. please behave yourself... when we celebrate a hindu festival .. like thaipusam / timithi etc... it is also to uphold our tradition and educate other races and our younger generation of our culture...
