@BXisAWOL The "mayor" of the city was corrupt and wanted to sleep with the doctor's daughter. Vergil was a subroutine of the Superintendent created by the doctor to keep his daughter (Sadie) safe. When the mayor tried to kidnap Sadie, she got away thanks to vergil. To get revenge, the mayor wanted the doctor dead. You can listen to all the audio logs to hear the story told better and in greater detail.

I kind of expected ODST to be a bit more realistic and tactical than it was. When I first put it in, I spend like half an hour making my way to the first objective because I thought I was going to die easily. After the first level, I realized it was basically just Halo and proceeded to charge headfirst into swarms of enemies and kill everything.

I beat solo Legendary in like a day. It was fun, but not really what I was expecting.
