nice watch! but it's to much money not have any special fetures. i have a few g-shocks with plenty of fetures and cost much less money. the price went up on this model because casio discontinued this model. the g-shock frogman is a really nice watch but to much money. I still have to get one for my collection though!

I bought a new Frogman in 2006 for $180 on Ebay which was about the going price at that time. Thought that was a lot. The price of this watch now is crazy. The watch is solar but no special features. I will say if you don't lose it, it lasts a long time 6 years and I replaced the watch band last month.

I would love to have a watch like this. I am a big G-shock fan, I actually had the first edition of it in 1993. Too bad I don't have it anymore or I would be rich right now. I had some models of the G-Shocks but now I own the Golfman blue G-9100-2JF I just got it but I am in Brazil so here we pay a LOT for it. Actually I paid around U$ 350.00 for mine. For me to have one Frogman like that I will have to sell a arm and a leg. If I find it here it will cost me around U$ 1.200,00 : (

Nice review Doug! There is a puzzling bit that I still don't quite understand, most or all G-Shocks are water resistant up to 200 meters and so's the Frogman, so what makes it particularly special? The ISO rating it has? Or some other internal component that's unique to the Frogman?

Great video Doug! Aint had a G-Shock for 10yrs. Lost my last one in work! So i Wanted to pick up a new G-Shock, so went on Youtube and came across your review! It's the second video I watch in which the man wears the watch in his right hand. Do all the people in the United States wear the watch in the right hand? In Europe we wear it in the left hand (I'm not sure for England). I guess it's like the cars, while in England the navigator is on the right, in other countries it's on the left of the car.

it's not a matter of where you live. It's a matter of preference and whether you're right or left handed. Right handed people tend to have the watch on the left hand and vice versa.

I have a question, I'm about to retire my G Shock G100-1BV. Now I'm an infantrymen and this watch I have now has survived a 13 month deployment in all situations with heat, cold etc. Any reccomendations on a tough watch? I like the G Shock AW560 but can't find any reviews on it like yours. Anyways, great vids man 5/5 like always

The solar system in these casios is not so reliable, i have seen a lot of them that the batteries do not last so long.They are still a world apart from the citizen eco drives that realy last a very long time.

Casio 25 year anniversary..the watch and style is not 25 year's old it represents high quality japanese IS0 cert divers watch. Divers watch robust, practical, hard wearing - in this case beautiful too and expensive. All the Frogman range appreciates in value - love it.

Doug I enjoyed your review on the GW225A. I have been wanting one for a long time and finally I picked mine up from Ebay (mind you for a premium) but it was encased in a black 'carbon fiber' like box as opposed to your tin. Was this available only in the Japan market sales? How long does it generally take to get a full charge? I received mine with 2 battery ticks and has not moved up or down since.

I like that Box, thats the Japanese release version, everyone else gets the tin.  Great pickup. Could take a week or 2 in sunlight for that full reserve charge, shouldn't move back down after that. Enjoy!

I say you can't go wrong with any of the Dawn Black models. Casio really did an excellent job with this anniversary lineup.

It comes in 3 types of boxes. Ones imported from Japan came in a chest like box. American released ones came in my container, and the ones at discounted prices came in the box.
