The song playing isn't the midi file Synthesia is playing, the song playing is the actual song. I'm hearing 16th notes that aren't there on the video and there are some parts like at 1:34 to 1:38 where it shows a longer note than the 16ths before going up at the beginning but it sounds like they're the same and the first note isn't being held longer than the others. Not being judge-mental or anything but I'm pretty sure the midi isn't actually being played.
