It went off in 1977 and I dont see how destroying the Swan Station effects what gets to the Island. We learned that the Lamp Post Station determines where the Isalnd goes. Ajira managed to get tot the ISalnd without a Swan Station there so I dont think the Swan has anything to do with them getting to the Island. If its all about Alternate timelines, where is the creative writing in that. Its basically a bunch of scripts all written to cover all inconsistencies. Thats lame

my two cents.....that there has been a "reset" of time....for the characters off island in 77. For example, the way things will proceed now for a 3 year old Hugo, a still to be born Kate, a 8 year old Sawyer, I think they will now obviously have totally different lives now.

But for the Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, etc that were on the Island at the time of the incident......I think they Island will send them now to 2007 time with Ben/Sun/Not-John-Locke.

I think one of two things:

1.) These commercials are just red herrings

2.) There will be two existing timelines (this would explain what Darlton meant by S6 being told in a new way, without flashbacks, forwards or time travel). One of these two timelines will have to be "chosen" somehow by Jack, et al and I think they will ultimately choose the original timeline even though people die (that way S1-S5 will matter).
