Surah 9 Verse 5? Directly after this verse,the subsequent verses instruct the Muslims to grant asylum to any member of the pagan tribe/army who asks for it. 1. He never said that he was the only example of a good muslim.
2. If you take versus out of context, not just verbal context but the time period of when they were revealed, they can be misconstrued to be violent.
3. The qur'an cannot be split directly into two parts.
4. The first verse you read means that during Ramadan you can't kill anyone. You cannot wage war during the month of fasting.
5. We are not allowed to "fight the unbelievers" as you said unless we are first attacked by them.

And this what verse 5 says "If one amongst the pagans ask thee for asylum, grant it to him, so that he may hear the word of Allah; and then escort him to where he can be secure: That is because they are men without knowledge"

i have to say your arguments are choppy, you're not looking at Islam and the Quran holistically...to understand Surah 9, sir...you need to know the history that follows every verses. the surah was handed in to Prophet Muhammad verse by verse..not the whole surah at one time...thus for every verses, there are events which happened before and thus that particular verse addresses the event that happened at that time..continues
