The actress isn't Laura Dern. This actress' face is kind of similar, but not close enough to be mistaken for her. If you've seen Blue Velvet or Wild at Heart you know what Laura Dern's face looked like in the 80s.
@heidirh I agree. I looked up her acting career online and it said that she did do some commercials in her early career, but there was no mention of her doing a clorets commercial.
Another one of my favorites is a hot-looking girl in a short yellow dress is standing on the street saying, "I ate tuna on rye with a couple of onions and now I could yell 'FIRE!' and no one would come to my rescue. So I take a Cloret." Water then splashes all over her and then a handsome fireman holding a bucket zooms up to her(the same way the girl and the guy zoomed to the screen here) smiling and says,"You called?".
Thank goodness that Clorets prevented these people from hanging themselves from the loneliness of having bad breath.
