Ya the camera work is less than ideal but the information is good. I find that I need +31MOA to get me to 300 yards from a 25 yard zero with Rem Yellow Jackets out of a 20" Green Mountain heavy barrel at 200' elevation, so it seems right that 29 MOA will get you to 250 with the shorter barrel and milder ammo.
So good work on taking a 22 out to near full distance.
I have literally put around five to ten thousand rounds of that Federal Bulk pack from walmart through my 10/22, and I have had very few misfires and it's decently accurate.
@lane1030 there would be nothing left lol, few years ago in colorado we were shooting prarie dogs and shot one from 30 yards with a 300 win mag. i kid you not, blood came back and was on his truck window
This is a very long video. Most if not all windows based computers have Windows Movie Maker on them. Its a pretty decent editing software program for video. I would go to your search field, click it and see if your computer has it. Windows Movie Maker makes any video sleaker, sexier, shorter and more entertaining.
If my rifle is sighted in at 100 ft. how many clicks on the turret to go to 300 ft.? if the turret is 1/4 moa? Im finding hard to convert distances off hand in the field. Like how many clicks for how many feet, any advice?
@dirtyminded604 If you sight in your rifle at 33.3 yards(100feet) and your scope is 1/4 MOA that means you adjust your scope by 4.65 MOA or 19 clicks.
1/4MOA means that at 100 yards 1 click equal 1/4 inch. Meaning if you want 1 inch at 100 yards you click it 4x to get 1 inch (1/4 x 4 = 1) If your shooting at 200 yards the 1/4 is doubled which means its 1/2" at 200 yards so you'll only click 2x to get 1 inch.
@mifslim So if its a 1/4 click turret, and i only have to click twice to get 1 inch at 200 yards, does that mean at 50 yards to move 1 inch that would be 8 clicks?
We plink at full beer cans at 250 yards with Ruger 10/22's pretty much every Saturday. Thats with a scope and bi-pod. Way fun! (Golden Bullets). We use the cross hairs to get the fix then use seat of the pants to adjust for windage and drop.
I have a Remington 597 with a Bushnell 3-9 x32 scope that reaches out to 300 yards (not feet) with CCI 40 grains. Its pretty easy to do actually. I forgot to mention I have a bipod on it. I Just zero it at 100 yards and then dope the scope for 5 inches drop for every 100 extra yards. Compensate with mil dots for windage and, boom, you hit the mark. The heavier grain bullet, the more predictable in the wind.
I have a 10x14" steel plate set up exactly 200 yards from my back porch, can cold bore it every time when there is no wind and provided a steady rest. I may move it to 300 but it will be hard to hear if I hit it at that range and impossible to see with my 3x scope.

Lol, tell me about it. I really wish guys like that know that other people and even kids are watching these type of clips. I really don't want them to think people like the lavid guy exsist in the sport we dearly love. This video was made as a educational clip that people can use 22lr for practicing long range shooting when you can't get to a long range range.
Hey asshole...dont purposefully move your sights off zero then record yourself putting them back to the setting.... it doesnt make you look like you know what your doing it makes you look like an asshole.
lol, uneducated folks have to use foul language to make their point because they are limited in vocabulary.
Anyways, so dont tell me that you zero your 22LR at 250 yards. Do you? Have you ever shot a 22LR at 200+ yards? the 22lr bullets BC is low (at most 0.100BC) while a .224(.223) fmj has a BC of .243 and even at longer range the .224 bullet veers off easily with a light wind.
Also, who the heck zero's their rifle with the turrent turned up so high? Your on drugs my friend.
if you only shot 150 yards then you have no idea. At 200 yards a 10 mile wind will veer a 36gr 22 bullet 20.6 inches. That's a 9.8 moa adjustment. At 250 yards it will veer 30.8 inches. Making it a 11.8 moa adjustment. That's with the bullet bc set at .127, but in reality the bullet is less then .100 bc. Which in turn you adjust more.
Sorry smart guy, if you never shot pass 200 yards, please just sit and watch. I bet you never shot at 1000 yards before either. I do it on a regular bases.
Lol, kid, if you never shot pass 250 yards you should just crawl back into your hole and shut up. You didn't ask about BC, but you don't even understand BC. Without it you can't calculate long shots.
Look, if you can't do it doesn't mean no else can do it. Just because you have a few videos of shooting an ar and field striping it doesn't mean you know everything. go to school, take a few English classes to get more vocabulary before you post. You sound like a idiot cussing
Lol, it's funny how you said 3p match. You know they use that term for airgun matches? Lol, your a 28 year old with the iq of a 6 grader, wait that's too high, 2nd grader. You must of graduated from boy scout school where they hold all the 3p matches.
Btw: I use a .223 for my long range club rifle.
Like I said, just because most, which includes you can't do it doesn't mean no one else can do it.
I'm sorry, that explains why your uneducated. Drop out? Wait no wonder you can't enroll in college, you don't even have a GED. Also, since your 18, that makes you have a iq of a preschool, wait... That's too high, a dog. :) it's guys like you that makes our sport have a bad name.

I saw your youtube vids of you cleaning your guns at your moms house where you live. I'll give you one thing, you know how to clean guns. Too bad you don't know shit about shooting.
You stupid idiot. For one, its not the windage, its "elevation" you retard. Windage is for lateral movement (left and right for you stupid). As for his elevation, you can clearly see the elevation knob is going up, so who gives a shit which way it turned.
Here's a tip. Know what you're talking about before you open your mouth. You don't even know the diff between elevation and 'windage'. You lost all credibility here buddy. Or should I say... FAGGOT. At least I can spell.
It's worse to get shot with a .22 then a 9mm, a .22 will bounce off bones and really fu** you up, whereas a 9mm will pass right through or get hung up in ya.
Thanks. I was going to get that but I found a bushnell 3x9x32 for about 40$ comes with a cloth and scope caps and the clamps to mount it on the gun fogprofe and waterprofe it was made for rimfire guns.very accurite. Its a lot of bang for a buck in my oppion.
ur pretty good i can hit a can at 120 yards but not 200 yards,u`d probally better off using a higher velocity round At that distance.did u have a mil dot scope?
Thanks. Im using HV ammo. Usually though if the 10/22 is upgraded it responds better to LV ammo, due to the ammo changing from sonic speed to subsonic speed. The transition messes up the bullet path a little causing it to be less accurate while the subsonic stays the same.
For the scope, its just a regular Duplex reticle scope.
it depends. If you were to buy it a few months back, it would of cost $1 per round, but back then and starting to now, their going for $0.50 per rnd. But if reloaded, I can get $0.20 per round. For the high grade precision ammo, about $0.40 per round
I do, depends on the load and what caliber. Handgun I usually have bad primer pockets before the case is bad (15-20 loads?) For rifle its about 7-10 shots. Also depends on if you Full Length resize and how much you stretch the neck. But usually about that much. Hope it helps.
The 22 doesn't get much respect, but it's great for short range assassination missions. Head shot means the bullet will ricochet around in the target's skull, and turn the target's brain to mush.
When .22 pocket pistols and revolvers became really popular in the 40's the mafia liked using them the most because it makes no blood splatter and you can suppress the sound by shooting through a pillow (i heard they did that for mob hits). And since the guns were so small and made out of weaker steel they could be easily melted completely thus leaving no evidence.
I've got a 4x16 mil dot scope on my AR-15 and I have a ceiner 22l conversion in it. I can make a 5 shot group at 100 yards and cover it with a nickel. It has adjustable parallax and I love it. Way better than my non adjustable scopes.
I havent had problems with the Fed. in this 10/22. Diffrent 10/22 will like diffrent ammo. I guess mines like this ammo, but its not accurate, just doesnt jam. I''ve shot 550 rounds of Fed with 1 fte. I guess you can say thats good. :D
Anyways, as for magnification. I think its best if you can get a clear scope. Even if a scope has a 1000x, but you dont see clear, you wont be able to hit the target. I think a 22LR would be prefect with a 3-9 with good clearity. At 300 yards the little 22 bullet would have droped ~123.4 feet already so I think a 3-9 would be good. Its up to you though, its all personel preference. :) Hope it helped.
What about a parallax adjustable scopes, can you take advantage with them on a range, cuz most simple scopes are set up for 100 yrds?I gues it would be the best choice as you would see perfectly at any distance.anyways...i'd like to buy a .22 for target shooting, maybe in few years?...
Oh yeah, defineantly. Anything that will help you get lined up with the target is a plus. But for 22LR, I think most people would set their zero at 50 yards. IMHO, 22lr cant do much damage after 100 yards, but for pure target shooting, Id suggest getting a Nightforce scope (jk). Get a scope with good clearity and good adjustments (1/8 MOA) would be better for target. Mines a 1/4 and I cant get precise when shooting at 250 yards. :(
man you sure know how to twist on a scope lol

fishnkid1923 2 years ago
hehe, no, just a L-R club shooter. But some of our club members have taught Navy Seal Sniper Teams though.
mifslim 2 years ago
that`s cool oh well your close enough,u should shoot some 243 rounds at 300 yards
fishnkid1923 2 years ago
Thats too easy. Try .223 at 800 yards. :) thats what I do at 320 rounds per month. 80 rounds per session.
mifslim 2 years ago
how much do 223 rounds cost?
fishnkid1923 2 years ago
it depends. If you were to buy it a few months back, it would of cost $1 per round, but back then and starting to now, their going for $0.50 per rnd. But if reloaded, I can get $0.20 per round. For the high grade precision ammo, about $0.40 per round

sounds good!

why did they go down
crf100person 2 years ago
hey just wondering if you reload your on rounds how many times can you reuse the brass.
x0NISSAN0x 2 years ago
I do, depends on the load and what caliber. Handgun I usually have bad primer pockets before the case is bad (15-20 loads?) For rifle its about 7-10 shots. Also depends on if you Full Length resize and how much you stretch the neck. But usually about that much. Hope it helps.

Ruger 10/22 is a fine weapon.
The 22 doesn't get much respect, but it's great for short range assassination missions. Head shot means the bullet will ricochet around in the target's skull, and turn the target's brain to mush.

amen, comrade. gimme a silenced 10/22 and im set. :)

yeah i thiink that`s cause the price of lead has gone up(a box of .410 shells r $30,And no i don`t shoot 410`s much i use 20`s and 12 gauges)
fishnkid1923 2 years ago
When .22 pocket pistols and revolvers became really popular in the 40's the mafia liked using them the most because it makes no blood splatter and you can suppress the sound by shooting through a pillow (i heard they did that for mob hits). And since the guns were so small and made out of weaker steel they could be easily melted completely thus leaving no evidence.

I've got a 4x16 mil dot scope on my AR-15 and I have a ceiner 22l conversion in it. I can make a 5 shot group at 100 yards and cover it with a nickel. It has adjustable parallax and I love it. Way better than my non adjustable scopes.

cool. I'm surprised it does that with the Federal milk carton ammo. I heard that jams in the 10/22.
stopglobalswarming 3 years ago
I havent had problems with the Fed. in this 10/22. Diffrent 10/22 will like diffrent ammo. I guess mines like this ammo, but its not accurate, just doesnt jam. I''ve shot 550 rounds of Fed with 1 fte. I guess you can say thats good. :D

Hi there!
I enjoyed your video especially the part when you were looking at your palm for the numbers(LMAO) it looks hilarious!
Would you recomend to me a 3-9 or 4-16 scope for a .22.
Is 3-9 scope good enough for long range shooting say 200 - 300 yards?
Thanks!
spshecot 3 years ago
Hey, thanks for the comment. :)
:) Hope it helped.
mifslim 3 years ago
What about a parallax adjustable scopes, can you take advantage with them on a range, cuz most simple scopes are set up for 100 yrds?I gues it would be the best choice as you would see perfectly at any distance.anyways...i'd like to buy a .22 for target shooting, maybe in few years?...
Thanks for the reply!Much appreciated!;-)
spshecot 3 years ago
Oh yeah, defineantly. Anything that will help you get lined up with the target is a plus. But for 22LR, I think most people would set their zero at 50 yards. IMHO, 22lr cant do much damage after 100 yards, but for pure target shooting, Id suggest getting a Nightforce scope (jk). Get a scope with good clearity and good adjustments (1/8 MOA) would be better for target. Mines a 1/4 and I cant get precise when shooting at 250 yards. :(

i agree. 3-9 for sure. you should never need 16x zoom for a .22
