  • Finally I've found someone in the right tuning! Great job!

  • Sounds like a hoot to play, jus wish I was that talented ! Nice. Your rig sounds great too.

  • quality man

  • still awesome

  • awsome. fukin awesome

  • Can you give me the tab for this?

  • sounds good sounds better in d you can really let it ring like it needs to

  • i believe its in open f. tune to open e capo 1st fret or you can tune to open if if you like

  • @dangtang707 I has the book on my comp, not that I can play it in its proper tuning, but its tuned to open d, then cap up 3 frets to f

  • dude, that was awesome....you have inspired me to learn this song.......

    totally awesome...

  • Been a while since I fovorited this song--Just want to say again how fucking awesome it is.

  • This is open G . not open D.

    And very good lesson. Thanks!

  • Bron y aur has open C6 tuning, Bron y aur stomp is open G

  • Enorme !

  • siiiiiiiick

  • he needs to listen to the song

  • THIS IS REALLLLLY GREEEEEAAAATTTTT ... 100 sttaaaars...xD ..

  • Lesson Please!!!!!

  • shouldnt everyone admit that this is not completely a zep original??? i mean the song kicks ass but like so so many of their other songs stolen!!!

  • so what they made them better what the fuck you want. fucking critics I don't see your fucking hits.

  • page's style is rooted in Blues. That being said Zepp plays alot of blues stuff, like the riff from the Lemon song is actually a cover of a Howlin' wolf song from the fifties, and Howlin' wolf probably played his version as a cover of someone elses. Blues is sharing riffs ideas, and chord progressions, no one really owns the blues, its the collective embellishments of generations of musicians.

  • this is an original zep tune dude. do some research. plant and page wrote this when they went to the bron-yr-aur cottage for vacation in whales. although a lot of zeppelins shit is just covers.

  • oh really...well heres some research for you, the lyrics are plants, but the tune is stolen pretty much note for note from an irish folk song called the "waggoner's lad" interpreted by bert janch. his tune came out on record 4 years before zep went to whales...so YOU do some research, asshat! dont bother commenting, because I know Im right!

  • fuck you cock fag. you said the song was stolen. they just used their own variation of a riff somebody already wrote and put lyrics over it. the song is different enough that you CAN call it original. people do that all the time. is the song a rip off? fuck yeah. but its not stolen. and i think we can both agree that it kicks ass.

  • Actually you are half right. Led Zeppelin drew inspiration from two sources. Wagoner's Lad and Steve Miller's LT's Midnight Dream.

They loved the Irish folk song but were not sure it would work on one of their albums. But then heard a similar song on Steve Miller's Album, Brave New World. Then decided to take from both.

Yes Led Zep did 'draw' a lot of themes from other musicians but they still had loads of talent. Were the The Beatles? No, but they were still creative in their own right.

  • It's spelt Wales not Whales

, you tit. LOL. There's nothing Celtic about Led Zep .. they are English through and through.

  • however its spelt, doesn't change the fact that while being one of my favorite bands of all time, played a lot of folk and american delta blues songs, and pawned it off as their own, thats all. Cheerio you fucking ass bag.

  • how is youre guitar tuned?

  • my guess is the open C6 tuning the original song has (C-A-C-G-C-E) since he is playing the open notes

  • nice classic zeppelin

  • That-was-fantastic! One of the best covers of Bron Yr Aur Stomp ever made.

  • THAT COULDNT SUCK ANY WORSE!

  • u obviously dont know shit about led zepplin

  • Fantastic. Id like 2 c u a little angrier at 2:15.

  • this was the best lesson of bron yaur stomp I've ever heard!!

  • Love it!

  • sweet intro!,right 5/5!

  • Loved it!

  • It is not Open D. I am also sure. Not here in this video it isnt.

    :)

  • how come people keep using different tunings?

i cant figure out which one is right

  • i;m possitive that the tuning is DGDGBD the only reason i know this is because i have this book of sheet music called 'led zeppelin complete.' and it has the tuning for the song in it. and there is a common misconception that there is a capo used in this song which is wrong too. lol

  • ah coolness

    hehehe

  • this is oped d tuning and yes it is correct. i am 100% sure

  • yea, my friend is a led zepp freakn and he plays alot of there stuff, i found a tab that was in FAFCFC and it sounded right, only it was ALOT HARDER, and plus most of led zepps songs like this are in DGDGBD so im gonna look for one in that and beat my friend to playin this :D

  • its easier to learn it in open G (DGDGBD)

  • Yes, this a great version ;probably the best on youtube. Don't you just love how people point out all the "mistakes" but nobody ever puts up their own videos on how to do it "correctly " ? LOL

  • That was perfect!

  • Thanks I am going try something I saw you do. We play this out alot and get the best response from it. We will play it tonight in the middle of the show. Thats The Way, Black Country, Bron-Y-Aur-Stomp. Check it out I am going to post it on a video response ROCKSHOW Raleigh NC I play it like you in G DGDGBD

  • yes i just read in this book i just bought called "LEd Zeppelin Complete" thst it is Open G tuning and that is DGDGBD. eah but this video still kicks ass.

  • you rock.

  • some people have told me open G, open C and now its open E. LOL if only i could ask MR. page. ha

your version sounds the best thats why its on my favorites

  • I play it using the open E tuning that LesPaulCustom79 provided below. I loosly base the way I play it from tab I had in a Led Zeppelin III book. I'll see if I can find you the ISBN. I fill in the blanks where the book left out. I know I don't play it exactly how he does (especially since I don't even use the same tuning JP did) or nearly as well (which people seem to love to point out) but I play it as best I can. Thanks to everyone who writes complimentary or constructive comments.

  • Page actually used an detuned open F tuning and a capo on third fret to reduce string tension from open F tuning. Weird just like Page + I hate capos.

  • Open E Tuning = E B E Ab B E

  • but for real that was impressive

i've been looking for tabs on this song and i can't find the correct ones.

    any sugestions

where did you learn it man?

  • Usually Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp(correct spelling) is tuned to open E. Can hit bar chords faster. Then the run patterns change from standard tuning though. Tabs are wrong and use standard tuning.

  • Bron-Y-Aur Stomp is actually the correct spelling. You might be confusing it with Bron-Yr-Aur which is an acoustic piece from Physical Graffiti.

  • You are incorrect. The record company marketing idiots mispelled "Bron-Yr-Aur" by leaving off the "r" on the back of record sleeve. Bron-Yr-Aur is the name of the stone cottage, in Gwenydd, Wales, where Zepplein wrote and recorded most of LZIII in 1970.

  • thats awesome!

  • Excellent, do "white summer black mountain side"

  • Dude...I have had your vid in my favorites for over a year now I think...and it's still one I go back to. Amazing job...right on key and right in rhythm. You have both talent and taste.

    -Kharma

  • Perfect. Is that tunning open C?

  • D-A-D-G-A-D

  • that was perfect. do more.

  • This is really good... Ummm, is this quite a bit slower than the actual version though?

  • awesome

  • what kind of guitar is that?

  • fantastic.

  • This is a beautiful i can never get enough of.

  • Page recorded this song in open F tuning with some strings tuned down 4 steps and some 2 steps, but it can be done in open E tuning as well but the picking will be different.

  • I like your version. This is a Welsh Folk Song and meant to be played with a folk rhythm, slower than Page did it.

  • do you have the name of the artist or name of that "welsh folk" song by chance?

  • The folk song's name is very close to the spelling by Led Zepplein but with the correct Welsh spelling. I saw the real name in an article about Led Zepplein on the internet. I'll try to find it and get the path.

  • The orginal English folk song was called

"The Waggoner's Lad" and the music was given to Jimmy Page by Bert Jansch. The title of Bron-Yr-Aur ("Golden Hill" in Welsh), is for a stone cottage located in Gwynedd, Wales, on top of a hill overlooking a huge meadow filled with wild flowers. Zepplein wrote & recorded many songs from Led Zepplein III at Bron-Yr-Aur Cottage in the summer of 1970. The lyrics are about Robert Plant's walks in the woods with his bluish-gray & white Border Collie, Stryder.

  • yeah your cool dude

  • fuck the haters....well done chap. Led zep III was the best cd they put out. how bout you learn gallows pole?

  • yeh i reckon its their best more acoustic stuff :)

  • too slow

    the genre is DANCE folk

good playing but not the led zeppelin version

  • Na, it was an old english folk song. Probably celtic in origin.

  • Bob Dylan played this before Jimmy Page did. I'm pretty sure that he wasn't the first one to play it either though. He does a good job on this song. It doesn't have to sound like Jimmy's version to be right.

  • bidon...

  • beautiful. wow. thank you

  • that is the correct speed to play it...well done. It could be a bit "looser" but it is very difficult to get that "jimmy page " feel on the guitar. Good job.

  • holy crap that was great...all i can say is that i wish i could play that

  • way too slow. it's like twice that fast

  • eee... its not bad but yo sound like a doped jimi hahah, the song has more vibe dude!

  • the studio recording of this song is in

    C F C F A F

just so all of you know

  • You can sort of play this using normal tuning. E-shaped barre, 1st fret, 4th fret, 6th fret and 3rd fret for the "when I walk down a country lane.." bit. You'll have to work out the picked part yourself. Good enough for busking :-)

  • good

  • capo at 10!

  • got better to the end!

  • dude put out a close up of the neck

  • briliant man insane

  • very nice ;-)

  • what is the tuning for this song?

  • open G i think my friend said sometin like that not sure if right or not

  • C A C G C E

  • C F C F A F

  • The song is usually played tuned to open D (DADF#AD) and Capoed at 3 for open F. This is so you dont have to tune up any strings and risk neck stress.

Its certaintly not played in CFCFAF ?!

  • nice

  • Nice man. This song has been stuck in my head all day. Well done.

  • Breath taking great cover of a classic

  • dude

  • Well played..

  • 1:13 to 1:17 is where i really get thrown off

  • Did you know this songs lyrics where written about Robert Plant's dog (Strider)? "As we walk down the country lanes ill be singing a song Hear me calling your name".

  • You are to lucky to have found the tab.. The things i'd do to find it >:)!

  • do you know where i could get the tab for this?

  • man that was freakin awsome..

    I need that tab!!!!!!

  • Great job man! Do happen to know where I could get tab for this song?? It'd make my day!

  • hey! really nice job, loved it.

just watch out at the part "Ahhhh caught you smiling at me..." (0:47)

because you are playing the 3rd fret twice, and then the 5th, but the right thing to do is play the 3rd, the 4th and then the 5th

  • Sounds spot on. Nice job.

  • TABS TABS TABS

  • i think that song would sound awesome on banjo xD

  • played, but a bit slow, miss the original tune yp

  • You're fucking awesome. That's not standard tuning is it?

  • Hey Zix, is that an ibanez acoustic?

  • hey buddy can i get those tabs...somebody please help!

  • My favorite Zep song! And you did a fantastic job my friend! Kudos!

  • Do a warehouse cover by dave matthews

  • close but not exact ;p

  • You are REALLY great, but, next time, try not to drool when you play.

  • Very Very Very good One of my fav songs you played it very well Well Done Jimmy Paige Would be proud

  • that was amazing.

  • lol i can play most of the tab u use but... i cant get the beginning to sound right

  • i have been trying to learn this song and i got to say your the shit---what kind of guitar is that --please hook me up with the tab

  • sned me the tab lol i looked at one and it was way more complicated than that lol

  • awesome. I'm working on this song right now. It's so hard D:

  • lots missing, but good

  • need to be a wee bit smoother....

  • I don' get it. you say its open F. but open F is =

    C F C F A F

Then i saw on some power tabs that it was open G tuning. Then you say you like it in an E chord, Which is it.

  • This dude has it tuned open F. FCFCAF (And does a grand job of it as well), not CFCFAF as you say

I tune it open D (DADF#AD) (Jimmy page stylee) and capo it at numero 3.

    Nice playin

  • Very nice man! i can't a good tab either..whered you find it? please provide link. Wow.. i wanna learn this song so bad!

  • Sorry, I don't have tab for it or a link. I had an old Zeppelin book(which I no longer have)that had it in which forms the basis for the song, and then along with the help of the Amazing Slow Downer, I was able to pick up the rest.

  • dude sweet i cant find a damn right tab for this song where did u find it?

  • He probly didnt use one if there arent any -.-

  • awesome

  • crazy man, that was great, would u mind sending me a tab? i mean i read one online and it looked nothing like the way that you were playing that. That was incredible, one of the more difficult songs to play i think. But yea get back to me on the tab would ya ;)?

  • I'm sorry to everyone who keeps asking me for tab for this song, but I don't have anything that I can e-mail to you or any website of any kind. Thanks to everyone for the comments and again sorry.

  • good job man!

  • nice! what`s the tunnin?

  • It's open F

    From 6 to 1: FCFACF

I find it easier to tune the guitar to an E chord (EBEG#BE)then capo on the first or not capo at all, either way it sounds fine.
