  • I found the mechanism of the bowflex to suck. I saw it all messed up in a store and it wasn't working. The weights were tangled somehow.

  • @goose1077 Hey goose 1077! Thanks for the comment! I had them for two years, used on a regular basis a few times a week with no maintenance and had no problems, but I've seen ones in stores which are also very rigid.. might be because they are never used. Happy lifting! :) DD

  • Nice informative presentation.

  • @dj99surf Thanks very much! :) Have a great day!

  • Very Thorough . I will get the power block u50 for now and upgrade later for the heavier weight. Thanks

  • @1CodBlackOps1 Good for you! Have fun and train safely!! :)

  • Thank you so much man. I've search around and your comparison review is by far the best.

  • nicely put together. audio was good. informative.

  • @shootsandscoots Thanks very much! :)

  • AND FOR ANYONE WHO CARES...........POWERBLOCK IS MADE IN U.S.A. bowflex selecttech's are not.

  • whaat? why are yours in kg's?? i find the bowflex grips to be a piss off, i have tiny hand and find them hard to hold when my fingers get tired. also, the rubber grip makes things MUCH worse once your hands start to sweat.

  • @RESTxINxPIECEZ Hi there! They're in kg's cuz I'm in Europe. I actually spoke a little bit about the grip of Bowflex in my Bowflex review video.. I would rather in general have straight regular bars as grip and nothing fancy. Happy Lifting!

  • @rider4343 Thanks very much!! Glad you enjoyed it :)))

  • Great review. Thanks for taking the time to put this together. It gave a lot of very good, useful information.

  • @jsphpalumbo You are most welcome and thanks for the kind words :)

  • I have the Powerblock sport 9.0 (the non-urethane version), and for me, the grey powdercoat works great. Never had a chip or anything like that. It's extremely tough. It's extremely quick change. Quicker than the Bowflex because you only have one adjustment. He makes it look awkward because the Bowflex is in the way. I never remove the adder weights, since 10 lb increments work just fine for me. The compact size, means NO COMPARISON. Bowflex are trash. Powerblock does everything well.

  • really good video, thanks. I'm trying to get a weights for p90x, coz the bands drive me insane :) I think i will get powerblocks, although the bowflex looks super cool :)

  • @Argcz Thanks very much!!! yeah the bowflex do look awesome :) Good luck in your training and happy lifting!!! :)

  • Great review, thanks. I like the BodySolid dumbell bench with the leg curl and extension and preacher curl attachments.

The power block bench is good with the dip and pullup attachments, but would have been perfect if it had the leg curl and leg extension and preacher curl attachment for a complete workout

  • I love eloquent videos. Thank you for this very useful review.

  • @csabakiss Eloquent. Wow! Thank you very much!! and thank you for watching!! :)) DD

  • I am picking up a pair of Powerblock U90s. Do you have any suggestion for a bench. Foldable would be ideal.

  • @akshay2196 Hi there. Hard to say I don't know all the brands. Just make sure it's stable and supports well. I believe it's better to pay a bit more and get good quality. I wouldn't compromise. Ask an expert at the store to make sure it suits you for training for your size etc. Good luck and happy lifting!

  • thx bud

  • @videoman1o1 most welcome :)

  • Very informative and honest review, thanks so much

  • @myusername94 Thanks a lot! :)

  • Thanks a lot! :)

  • Dude great video! Really well done

  • There are some advantages to using a free weight that is unbalanced. it activates stabilizer muscles in what ever large muscle group you're working.

  • Does the pin ever fall out of the powerblocks? i heard a bit of a snapping sound when you put the pin back in but just to be sure. thanks

  • @FrikkenChicken Never heard of that happening nor did I personally have any such problem. It is a bit freaky at first when you start using them though cuz you feel it might slip out. Anyways I think the manufacturers would make sure it holds otherwise the lawsuits would be coming in like crazy... so.. shouldn't be a problem :) Happy Lifting!

  • @DoubleDFitness thanks man i think im gonna go with the powerblocks.

  • @FrikkenChicken Good choice man I don't think you'll be disappointed. Happy Lifting! :)

  • nice job, happy lifting, and extra thanks for the bloopers :)

  • @BobbyFischerQc Thanks very much for the kind words and glad you appreciate the bloopers! Happy lifting mate! DD

  • hey man, excellent review! pretty much everything i needed to know...one issue i had given almost no consideration is the size of the dumbbells, and you made that explicitly clear in the video, which really changed my whole mindset...

but i was just wondering if you'd be willing to do a review of ironmaster quick lock dumbbells and maybe compare that with bowflex...i might go with ironmaster, but i just wanted to be sure before i do

  • @shyan042688 Hi Shyan! I'd love to review the ironmaster, as I heard some great things about them. However I will only review them if you can get ironmaster corp to send me a pair :) or get my hands on them somehow and unfortunately I don't know anyone who has them! but thanks very much for the kind words and happy lifting!

  • @shyan042688 I have the Ironmasters and the Powerblock Flex U90s. The Ironmasters are good as they feel like conventional DB's however they are NOT quick change, they are actually very clumsy to change at times and you need two hands to change the weights.

For something like p90x you have to go for the PBs as it is very easy and quick to move through the weights even if you are taking the little adder weights in and out.

  • @shyan042688 Also the main issue I have with the PB's is the little adder weights mean that they are not balanced, you notice when you are doing a basic bicep curl and this can be a little annoying.

Honestly mate in terms of convinience, feel, reliability and life span I would say the the PB's are the way to go!

  • great review.. thank you..

  • @aloobi thank you very much buddy!

  • Nice Review. Thanks. You should accidentally drop both of them to see how sturdy they really are. Neither looks like it could handle an accidental drop.

  • Best review of bowflex/powerblocks ive seen so far..tnx

  • @BB80MA most welcome!

  • PLAY, PAUSE, PLAY AGAIN, PRESS 9 REPEATEDLY

    LOL XD

  • I've had the Powerblocks 9.0 for a couple years now, and the Power blocks are better in every way....He makes the pin look difficult, because he has it sitting so close to the Bowflex and that interferes with it..In reality, the Power blocks are incredibly quick to change. Much quicker than the Bowflex. I never need to mess with the inside weights. The pin sticking out on the other side has never been a problem. Powerblocks are the best. Rock solid durability.

  • Also the powerblocks do not need a stand or tray and they can be adjusted anywhere on anything. The boflex dumbbells have to have the tray and if your try breaks and you can no longer use it then your stuck with a pair of useless $399 dumbbells!

  • @65impact in the Bowflex's defense though the tray is not a part of the mechanism, it just hold the weights in place, and its just a big piece of plastic, so the chances of it breaking are quite slim

  • Great review, best of luck

  • @MrBodybuilder95 Thank you kind sir! :)

  • nice review, and its all appreciated. If i were to buy any of these (sadly im more into bodyweight conditioning and spinlock dumbells as they are much cheaper, and im currently working towards replacing all dumbell and weightlifting exercises with bodyweight)

but this is a really good review, really clear!

  • @pkhamidar2com Thanks very much! :)
