Kinda like me, I've played for 40 years and never liked trying to figure out song, I just put on the record and jammed with it and after a while I was playing the song but it never was just like the original, but I ended up with my on little version which was close. Hated trying to do it note for note.
Thanks a lot. It is actually fun to take the playing up again with lots of inspiration here on YouTube.
I am pretty sure my Strat is from 1972 (early CBS), but it is actually very well-made and I am happy with it. Unfortunately I forgot the details, but years ago I rewired it a bit and blocked the vibrato to get slightly more sustain.
If you email Fender with the serial number, they may be able to tell you all the details about the guitar. They did for mine. It was a recent purchase though. It's worth a shot.
Thanks for the suggestion. However I just found my "The Fender Book" which says that S/N 200,000 to 300,000 were made 1969 to 1970. So with a S/N of 287,342 it is very likely from 1970 instead.
you sir, ROCK! yeah it wasnt note for note, but jimi never played anything the same way twice, thus, there is no rite or wrong way to play hendrix songs. your guitar looks amazing. i love big headstock strats, all of mine are but they are reissues. i hope i'm still rockin when i'm you age. ISPIRATIONAL!!

I cant believe you learned that by ear right after it came out in 67,even if you didn't start until 1975,
still people had to be blown away when they seen
you play that?

Just because it's not the album version doesn't mean it's "wrong". Hendrix never played the same thing twice. Great job Lambo, I really liked it!
