@GCITYdrummer811 - As much as I adored/adore Harry Kalas, his best friend Richie Ashburn still deserves that honor more. Kalas was only with the Phillies for 38 years (1971-2009).
His Whiteness was a Hall of Fame center fielder for the Phils for 12 seasons (1948-59), and broadcast for the Phils for another 34 seasons (1963-97).
Whitey's 48 years was probably second in Philly baseball history only to Connie Mack's 54 seasons of ownership of the A's. Shibe Park was renamed in Mack's favor.
