my highschool is the first in the east coast (from what i heard) to do this play. it's hard cause i was used to do small roles. anyone who ever played gary gauger who saw this, give me some pointers on how to be him. cause i'm soundin more like a new yorker then a midwestern hippie doin this part
These men and women were not innocent. One of them, Robert Earl Hayes, is now serving 45 years for an identical murder in New York. Sonia Jacobs was a drug dealer and prostitute who admitted that she committed murder. Jacobs and Kerry Max Cook both plead guilty.
@mst3k4evur I don't know about the guilt of the first three you mentioned, but Kerry Max Cook NEVER plead guilty. He plead "no contest".... right before he was due to be tried for the 4TH time (something unheard of in the ENTIRE history of Texas) The misconduct on the side of the prosecution was huge, they lied, they fabricated evidence, they broke the law trying to get him convicted. Go read the book "Chasing Justice".
On Cook's case I'll agree with you. I don't think he was guilty and the ADA in the case probably broke the law. That being said, the three others were certainly guilty and even Cook's case wasn't thrown out due to innocence but prosecutorial misconduct.
@mst3k4evur I don't think he was guilty either. The case wasn't thrown out, prosecution offered the plea bargain of "no contest" the morning that jury selection for the 4th trial was to begin because "evidence" that the prosecution had relied upon previously was not going to be allowed, and they knew that Cook was going to finally take the stand. Cook took the plea bargain (after he got it reworded) because people who showed up for jury selection were going to put him back on Death Row.

@amalphia970
The case WAS thrown out, hence the need for subsequent trials.
