  • Can you say STUPID

  • I get so mad because my grandmother thinks it's o.k. for someone to stick their hand in the wash as it's going. We had an argument today because when I was letting the water run she stuck a wooden pole into the wash between cycles to "stir" it because she said the soap will settle to the bottom and ruin the machine, and she yelled at me because I refuse to put my arm in to "stir" the contents! It's driving me nuts as I have no medical insurance and can't afford an accident!

  • I have been reading some of the comments on this story which blame the girl for sticking her hand in a moving washer. That may be only a small part of it because do you notice how the tub jerks a quarter turn counterclockwise for every full stroke of the agitator? Hey, White Westinghouse, you doofus! DON'T YOU KNOW THE TUB'S SUPPOSED TO SPIN ONLY DURING THE SPIN CYCLE AND NOT DURING THE AGITATION CYCLE? Stop manufacturing pieces of trash and start doing it right!

  • Like, even though your right arm is hosed, you can still do laundry. You go, girl!

  • Don Henley's "Dirty Laundry" should be played in the background at the courtroom proceedings.

  • This is what happens when you put two idiots (the company and the girl) together. Stupidity continues to invade america.

  • 1:00 this happens to idiots!! Why are you climbing up on a working washing machines

  • 1:00 this happens to idiots!!

  • Well at least it did not cost her a leg as well. Then that mistake would have cost her an arm and a leg. On the other HAND it could have been worse she could have stuck her head in there.

I think that would go on record as the dumbest death ever decapitation by washing machine.

  • That girl is dum as fuck. I've been doing my own laundry since I was 7.

  • How the fuck do you get your arm torn off by a washing machine?

  • This just in - Joe Johnson of Tinklespring Falls suffered from third degree burns on his hand after inserting his hand into a toaster. Johnson's attorney, Sam Stapleton said that Proctor Silex, the manufacturer of the dangerous kitchen appliance, should have installed a photocell to immediately turn off the heating element when a hand approached the slot.

  • If the mother taught her some safety points about the washer this would not have happened. I hope she taught her not to run out into traffic or she may sue the car manufactures for her girls death.

  • how does a person lose their arm with a washing machine??? the cloth you toss in wraps itself around your arm and snaps it off? the mechanics under the lid grabs your fingers and tears it off? confusing!

  • that washer machine should have stoped spining, my washer says close Lid. ortherwise washer will not spin.

  • iam sad you lost part of your arm but what the hell was it doing in the washing machine!!!!!!

  • i know her and lets just say there's more to this story then what you see

  • What a stupid bitch I hope she lost her lawsuit.

  • Fucking typical. Girl is stupid enough to put her hand in a washing machine, and somehow that's the fault of the company? Exactly what I expect from Americans, always blaming their stupidity on someone else and expecting to be paid millions for it.

  • @michaelkeefe91 like most americans they blame McDonalds and other fast food resturants for obesity but it is their own lack of self control that causes it, they have been told countless times that it is bad for you and what do they do? they keep eating it! (p.s Im American and Yes I agree that a whole lot of us need to be a little smarter lol)

  • machines are good

  • seems to prove that frontloaders are a much more intelligent solution...

  • looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • where was her mother??

  • It is sad.

But I am very surprised. I have never seen any washing machine of that kind. I come from Europe and we have two types of W.M

one that opens on top and one that opens in the middle. There is an iron cinlinder that spins and inside which You put the laundry but I have never seen that spining plastic part anywhere. Is that kind of W.A standard in the US? Also I never seen ansìy W.M that could be opend while functioning. Is it an old model?

  • Then that dumb bitch should have bought the washer from the 70's! And I don't approve of this lady making her daughter put her hand in a washer and losing it just to make a point. and take amber's cue cards away!

  • Stupid machines. Why don't you guys use automatic washers anyway?

  • Sure, anyone should know how to do laundry, and not to stick their hands into stuff that's even remotely imaginably dangerous, but that piece of junk should STILL have had a safety switch, specially if they've had the technology since before '76! Nobody can argue that the girl was stupid to do what she did. But you can't argue that the company is even more dumb. My 2 cents.

  • Well, I remeber i put my hand several times in a laundery machine just playfully. I wonder how it injured the poor girl so seriously. Anyways, we should learn from accidents without blaming the victims. Man is to make mistakes and technology should bring round improvements that save us when we err.

  • Gotta admit, I agree with most of the comments on here. I knew at an early enough age not to stick my hands in anything that was moving.

This is what happens when stupid people are allowed to have children.

  • absolute horse shit. What the fuck is a 9 year old kid doing laundy UNATTENDED for? I am so tired of people not taking responsiblity for they;re own actions

  • I had a metal fan without protection in the back, when I was five. At that time I knew that it will rip my fucking hand...so I didn't stick it in. =)

  • LMFAO Stupid bitch! Sucks now she has to wipe her ass with her left hand and jerk off guys with her left too. rofl

  • Whiny bitch, keep folding my laundry! And get me a beer while you're at it.

  • It infuriates me that the mother didn't bother to TEACH her kid how to do laundry properly. My parents made damn sure I knew what I was doing when I did my own laundry at the age of seven. What kind of idiot sticks their hand in something that is MOVING?! I don't care if you're 9 years old - it's not being mean it's me asking where is this kid's common sense! Responsible parents with common sense raise responsible kids with common sense. What is wrong with her mother?

  • FUCK LID SWITCHES

  • Look her mom prolly had her doing laundry to teach her some fucking responsiblity.. it was just a freak accident.. No ones fault.. Damn..

  • I think its quite silly that needed to put clothes in the machine while it was switched on,

usually you put the clothes in, close the lid turn it on and walk away.

  • I agree you should stop the machine and put the clothes in first then start it back up, or buy a frontloading washing machine that locks the door during the wash so you can't open it

  • I like how all you guys are berating a 9 year old for doing something like that, as if children of some other nationality are any smart. Get a clue, you fucking 'tards.

  • ... are you stupid? why are you adding towels WHILE THE MACHINE IS SPINNING?! press the STOP switch, add towels, start machine. you deserve to have your hand removed

  • She was only 9 years old at the time and didn't know any better. So shut up.

  • Well if a 9 year old doesn't know any better why is her idiot mother letting her use the fucking washing machine in the first place. They both deserve it.

  • You just took 'mean' to a whole new level, jerk.

  • This is not an uncommon accident and life is full of dangers. Look back 100 years, what were the dangers then? Hmm? Look back 50 years. We live in very safe times indeed!!!

  • no there is no need for that Mushinronjya is there she was only little so if u make 1 nasty comment to this video again i will report u ok got it good

  • Missw, well then, it sounds like a parenting issue then. Report me? Oh please.

  • Typical American stupidity. How much do you want to bet that this same group of idiots bitch about the cost of their next machine because the feds mandated it be built to their specs.?

  • thats really horrable for a 9 year old, who did not know her parents washing maching was stil on the spining cycle. if my mother knew my arm was cut off by the washing machine, my would be screaming and calling 911. by Steven Eagles

  • What else do you think her mother did?

  • Stupit companies saving a buck at your expense.. Go get'em!

  • I believe it to be the parent's responsibility to teach proper usage of equipment.

  • Apparently some people need to be TOLD not to put their hand in the machine while its on. Something most other people automatically know.

  • Yup, many americans are stupid. they blame the companies for their own stupidity.

  • Actually removing all safety features would reduce the idiot gene pool by weeding out the stupid...

  • This washing mashine are dangerous for no reason. I dont understand why the parents are responsible for the desing errors in this shitmachine. Blame the Manufacturer!

  • as TRAGIC as this incident is, the user of any machine has to take responsibility for educating themselves about proper use.

many household appliances carry a certain risk with use, and its the PARENTS RESPONSIBILTY to make sure their children know how to use major appliances. the washing machine had to be turned on and used incorrectly for this to happen. my mother would NEVER have allowed me to stick my hand into a moving washing machine.

  • The top of my fisher & paykel gwl15 locks when the washer is in use.

  • The Westinghouse and White-Westinghouse machines are designed to lock the lid just before the machine begins the spin cycle. If the lid didn't lock there was a malfuntion. Unfortuneatly it's a double edged sword. The machine malfuntioned, but a 9 year old shouldn't have been adding anything to the machine while it was running.

  • Thats really sad, some random girl from out of the blue ends up having a horrific accident, and the best comment you could post was "she proberly messing about with" And by the way, "Proberly" is spelled "probably" you illiterate bastard...

  • The machine snapped my Arm and bone in half after i was trying to put all the towels in the machine which clung to my arm then ripping it into the cycle. then i had to to spend the next 3 months of my life in a hospital bed 10 surgeries, 1 year of physical training and to this day i still have only one arm. I a m pretty sure that doesn't constitute messing around with it you idiots.

  • wat was it on full spin how do u lose a ARM! from that...

anyway its pretty horrable thing for a 9 year old.

  • how did she lose her hand tho?

  • she proberly messing about with
