"Well thats all for Top Gear this week.... next week Noel Edmonds tries the new offering from Austin Rover... the make or break Maestro... Tony Mason heads off to Thetford Forest and has a try in Jimmy McCrae`s GM Rally Team Manta 400... and i`ll be popping in to see the boffins in action down in Bedforshire at Millbrook"
I've always liked this album cover. It's one of those images that tends to stay with you. Can't quite put my finger on why, though. The music is great, too. Definitely in my top 5 Elton John albums. Too bad it didn't do well commercially.
Bought this in 1976 and "got it" straight away. Spoiled for good music then with Frampton Comes Alive, Fleetwood Mac, Even in the Quietest Moments, Songs in the Key of Life and even Little River Band getting onto the US Charts with some interesting music.
I've been wanting to know the name of this track for years! Blimey at last! Reminds be of Bill Woollard and Chris Goffey...'That's all for tonight's Top Gear. We hope you enjoyed watching..See you again this time next week' etc
"coming next week on Top Gear... can Fiats new Uno mix it with the big boys from GM, Ford and Austin Rover? and Chris Goffey gets to grips with the new offering from Citroen... the exiting new BX"
I thought this track was done by the Allman Brothers who do the more famous Top Gear theme Jessica. Im a massive fan of the current Top Gear with Clarkson , Hammond and May but i wish they stick this track on at the end this is brill.
@TULRangerFan Elton's new album The Union with Leon Russell is superb. He was onto something really interesting with Blue Moves but then he was struggling personally, took time out and came back with a wrong turn at the crossroads.
Great song on a OK LP if it would have been one LP it would have been great. Dont get me wrong this good and the great players behind him on this song D.J., J.N.H., R.P., C.Q. & R.C.
Agree 100% that Blue Moves would have been a far superior album if limited to one disc. Unlike Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (which probably could have supported a third!). Great comment.
This instrumental track from Elton John is still my favorite track off the "Blue Moves" album. Kickass drumming from Roger Pope, nice synth work from James Newton Howard (yes, the movie music guy JNH) who was a member of Elton's band at the time, Ray Cooper on congas and some wicked Elton piano work towards the end. This track still sounds fresh and exciting 34 years later.
remember listening to this as a kid when top gear used to be on at 8:30 on a thursday night beeb2 never thought it was elton john because the drumming sounds like early police live and learn
This was a cool little number which I felt was written so that Elton and the boys could just jam. I wish some one would post "Theme from an a Non-Existent TV Series"...another cool instrumental off this album
Mmmm, brings back memories, love it!

The drumming is so tight here. Awesome. Always loved this tune as it played out over the closing credits of Top Gear.

@darrowby1972 That is exactly how 'Mr Farrah slacks would say it, with his foot perched on the bumper of a car from that week's show.
Bring back William Woollard and Chris 'wooly pully' Goffey.

This was the last Elton John album I bought. He just got too popish for my blood. This was a good song.
