I know what you mean. I feel like I was born for piano. I can do legato as fast as I want with the left hand, but when it comes to picking I'm so slow by comparison. I recently changed my picking style so hopefully I will adjust.

eric johnson also has a built in habit of rushing... yes its true he's not so great with rhythm... and I think either you tried to emulate that, or it was by accident... but sometimes he's just slightly ahead of the beat. Whether you did that intentionally or not, I think thats how its supposed to be done.. so good job on that too.
