  • what's the title of the song in your pro tools? i want to download it! what a great job!

  • Once again you are the man! Ty

  • this helps out alot. i'm currently in an apartment for school. and it is the worst mixing environment due to lack of space. I have to mix so loud to hear everything and sometimes just getting a good level is so hard.

  • /i love this song .. where can I find it graham ?? XD

  • @dimithri555 The artist is Joshua List, check him out on iTunes.

  • Could listen all day

  • So simple and so clever, thank you graham

  • Great tips! Thanks!

  • Awesome tip Graham. Thanks so much. You are definitely right about mixing too long and this is a great tip to double check yourself.

  • wow of all videos this is probably one of the best you've ever done!! :D

  • nice trick. thx from zpain!!

  • how many of you have done this then end up with every track down 4 db a few minutes later -.- lol

  • thx~man~what a great tip

  • really helpfull XD

  • thanks graham

  • this was the first one that has been new to me, but re-learning all of this has been awesome.

  • hmmm...sorry to challenge you on this graham, but on the guitars you could have come down to -2db as I thought it was a little too loud at 0db, also I actually thought both guitars were a too loud in that section. I'm just saying that cus I'm listening with fresh ears, but then you have the original recording in front of you and you prob know best from within the studio in front of your own speakers! Thanks for the tip tho as always, really good tuts. ;-)

  • @antoni7515 Thats funny I thought the same thing about maybe goin 2 db down on those guitars, but overall the concept was shown very well and this is a great tip.

  • what kind of sandwich?

  • @TheLabWeMakeRecords I get a better mix with a turkey sandwich

  • Graham, how do you go about processing a tambourine?

  • This is really helpful! Thanks!!

  • very helpful tip, thank you so much!

  • Hello graham loving your tutorials, do you have any tuts about creating a good mind frame and getting the most out of your studio time. I have found watching 5 of your tuts each day to be a good rhythm for my routine. I am looking for ways to work regularly regardless of how im feeling or what other things are going on in my life. Any thoughts

  • Hey! It took me a while to find out that you're a Gospel Artist/Producer. Love your tutorials and God Bless you for them. They really help me in my productions.

  • -> ... attack principle and the 3-4dB rule), while some very important and essential stuff seems to be missing, such as how to eq an acoustic or electric guitar, keyboards (of different kinds), etc. It would be really awesome if you put out some material on that here on YouTube or on your site in text, since I (and I'm sure many others) tend to really trust you.

But hey, thanks anyway, you're already helping tremendously!

  • @bmour11 The problem with "how to eq ____"s it's that the EQ may differ depending on how you want your instrument to sound. There is a common ground, but mostly of the process from, for example, mixing to country music might (and certainly will) be different to mix to heavy metal, or samba, etc.

  • @canaldozezin I agree, of course individual mixing settings differ based on style, character of each instrument, etc. However, all of these videos provide some common starting points (such as the one about a problematic drum frequency of 400Hz in one of the videos and others), which can later be tweaked.

  • Graham, you're awesome, man! Seems you're one of the very few people who mix not only by intuition but also have a solid method(s) to all this madness. Very coherent and logical.

Practical and helpful. And your mixes sound killer, which shows you really know what you're talking about. Thanks!

However, a small note regarding your 31 videos in 31 days series: some of the topics presented here are being covered for a second time (such as the ... ->

  • thks first tutorial i like :)

  • cool

  • Great Tip Graham. I was listening to the mixing on some old Journey songs and was amazed at the "subtle" guitar parts that you can barely hear (with headphones on). This Tip just confirms that I need to do this often! You are right on with this one (for me at least).

  • Thank u very much i have been waiting for some tutorial like that, again thank u very much!!!!

  • Great tip! Thanks.
