Hey I have a quick question I have a 07 800 can am outlander and when I try to do a wheely it will not do it I bought it used at a auction the only way I can get it to do a wheely is if I as I am moving hit the front brake the hit the gas but it dose not stay up long. Would you know what I could do to fix this?
Thanks very much for taking the time to make these vids. I'll be installing a Dalton clutch kit this weekend on my 800 outlander. I just put on a set of 31" highlifter outlaws. Awesome job thanks again!!
John you need to work on your terminology the surfaces the belt rides on are called clutch sheave's not pulley's the clutches are sometimes called pulley's,The things you call slider pads are called buttons . I'm not tryin to bust your balls I see your a mechanic and you know what your doing but you dont know CVT's that well. And thats something I specialize in I'v tuned quite a few sleds from stock to 200 hoarse drag sleds
Most dealerships and mechanics use this methood because most do not have the tool to lock the clutch in place. The impact is not able to apply full force because the clutch is not locked down and turns under the torque. It would be different if the clutch was locked
John, should you be tightening primary and secondary with a impact? Tourque values suggest around 74 ft/lbs. Your impact would be exerting a couple hundred ft/lbs of tourque! Can't be good dude...
I'd wondered exactly how the clutch worked. Thanks for clearing it up. My unit was in the shop getting that kit installed due to the cover leaking mud and locking it in gear, all warranty. What does that kit include and whats the general cost? curious.
thanks for your help your information is very helpful
