I laugh everytime someone accuses this game of being a rip-off of Guitar Hero or Rock Band. First of all, Battle of the Bands is not a music simulation game. It's action-rhythm. Secondly, Guitar Hero and Rock Band are not original games. Both games play very identical to Konami's Guitar Freaks and DrumMania series that both debuted in the late 90's. Sad ignorance.

Songs play in Rock Country Marching Band and Ranchero Genres. In each game a song will be played in one genre for about 10 to 15 seconds and then another flipping back and forth. Points are earned by beat-matching and successive matches will automatically launch quirky weapons such as smoke bomb land mine and flip out. The more points earned the more the music will be played in the players genre.
