The fact is that he ISN'T EVEN a prince in this game at the beginning. The Prince in the SoT trilogy stopped looking princely since Warrior Within. After that, they were just winging with a mediocre character models for him. This one is at least a little bit more original, fitting of the new hero's status, and again, where the hell do you get the "japanese" essence from? Because as far as I'm concerned, that's just groundles generalizing. The same goes for your "Final Fantasy" comparison.

Either I'm reading you wrong, or you obviously haven't been reading up on the facts about this game much. Again, the protagonist is CONFIRMED as being an entirely diffferent character to the Prince from the SoT triology (Heck, the SoT trilogy Prince was like, the second or third Prince in the PoP series as a whole), as is the setting, and universe of the new game.
