  • So.. This is what Thiel paid $30,000 for? I think Pete should ask for his money back. Now this O'Keefe moron is begging for money from his 'followers' (sheeple) because he spent all of his money making this worthless, degrading video (and others like it). In actuality, he has been backed by rich conservatives (like Thiel) all along and he is likely using donations to pay legal fees for his criminal acts that he is being prosecuted for.

    What a total loser.

  • The truth is the cost is much more. Why? Malinvestment. What is that? It is the Opportunity Cost of sending money/capital to under-performing/non-performing entities and hence have less money/capital for investment in entrepreneurial entities.

  • How can it be propaganda when the information is true?

    It's what they voted for!!

  • dez crackerz tryin 2 usez a brothaz voicez

  • It's kind of sad that young, college age kids (which I am as well) can be so easily convinced to take part in something this imbecile and, in my opinion, degrading to both them and the people whose doors they knocked on.

  • What a bunch of shit. So glad to read the comments below and see that Americans aren't believing this propaganda. Two wars being fought with no clear reason why, but Dick Cheney and his tax evading corporations are doing alright!

  • Wait. They said "Obama" when they should have said "Bush."

Makes no sense. Now, after 20 years of malfeasance, do you have any other solutions? Other than idiotic videos? What would you have done? If not, STFU.

  • @hocuspocius You can't expect the greasy short haired right wing loser and wanna be pimp boy, James O'Keefe, he of the recent attempted sexual assault on a CNN reporter, to admit that it was the rightwing scum Bush and Cheney who drove this country into the economic toilet. l TARP was the rethuglican administrations response to 30 years of deregulation that caused the banks to bundle failed mortgages in an attempt to make EVEN more money.and sent this economy into the crapper. FIGHT THE RIGHT!

  • This is about dumb as shit! Wouldn't have Dubya jumped at the chance to bail out his corporate buddies ('course, he did start it didn't he?)? These bailouts are only popular when it's your moron doing it. Either you are with the 'little man', or you are against him!

  • what a dumbass video. Uh...hey, idiots. Bush started the bailouts.

  • You should watch Borat. He's much funnier and he shows white people acting like EVEN BIGGER fools. Who can forget "Throw that Jew in the Well'? But I suppose Cohen IS A JEW. Any of you fucking idiots that think Obama is Muslim or a 'socialist' should TRULY look up the meaning of the latter term. You fucking ingnorami wouldn't know a socialist or a communist, or a fucking democrat if those terms bit you in the ass. Read a book, and please, SOMETHING OTHER THAN THE BIBLE.

  • Breitbart is a piece of shit. Fucking lying scum.

  • Anyone notice that random black man smoking a cigarette at 3:51?

I think they wanted us to assume it was Obama... so sad

  • @Asylumescapee69 That guy was white. I know Obama is pretty light skinned, but that wasn't even close. Believe it or not, not every guy in a suit is Obama.

  • @cuda1179

    sorry I meant 3:47

He's not white. And I don't think it's Obama. Just pointing out what must have been a frail attempt...

  • Man, living in fantasy land. Obama didn't start the bailouts, George Bush did. The hell, man? Can't you make a point without twisting reality?

  • What happens when those checks they present bounce? Isn't that fraud? These college twerps are obviously wrapped up in a paranoid fantasy fostered by a cushy upbringing where the ills of society are caused by the administration they didn't vote for. They're so convinced that they're on a moral crusade that they aren't worried that they're committing a crime???

  • the idiot that made this neglects to mention that the bailout money was already approved when the last president whose 8 years seem to have dropped from the american citizen's memory was in office. whose is really responsible for this? it couldn't be from that last president-because we don't even remember him and how unpopular he was. it took 8 years to fuck us up and those 8 years seem to have vanished into magical dust. heaven help us when these fools regain control of the house.

  • @westprice They didn't neglect to include it--they are deliberately misinforming people. The way it works.

  • Where was the outrage at the Bush administration's $770 BILLION bailout of rich (and almost entirely white) bankers?

I guess it's only worth sounding the alarm and making a video about it when you can pick on people you don't like and can't relate to -- like poor and working class people, especially if they're black or hispanic.

Offer up whatever excuses you want, but it's pretty obvious that this bullsh#t is racist and elitist (that's right: class warfare, from the top looking down).

  • @Samrk3 i completely agree with you and i am a white male. they are afraid because they know that we are eventually going to become a country with more of what are considered minorities (especially hispanics) than whites. so the hell what? are they going to tell me that the white trash all over the US is better than minorities? i thought that our country was supposed to welcome people from other nations with open arms. i'm not afraid. i like all sorts of people.

  • @westprice Thanks, and I agree with your points as well. And like you, I'm also a white male. Unlike all these self-pitying, panic-stricken rightwing nuts (for example, the billionaires' errand boy who made this video) I hardly feel "persecuted" just because our country is becoming more diverse.

  • Just got pointed to this video in today's village voice - their distaste was not baseless

  • O'Keefe got $30,000 from Peter Thiel to produce this? Stunning.

  • Wow, too lame.

  • Wow, you guys are bigger dirtbags than I imagined. Going after the banks, that was fine, maybe even a trifle funny, but showing up at people's houses (mostly people of color), and using them as suckers in your video...despicable. I look forward to seeing you in new costumes, preferably orange jumpsuits.

  • Oh my god, can you believe your tax money goes to infrastructure that supports the public good, like amtrak! Next, we'll find out that it costs money to operate public libraries!

We need that money to bomb people!

  • I didn't know that Obama was President when the bailouts started back in 2008.

  • Lame...

  • And what does this piece of shit little freak make that adds to the the economy? Hatred is only a commodity on Fox News.

  • I thought it was Bush's stimulus plan?

  • Right-wing propaganda. Nothing more. Mean-spirited, infantile, pathetic, and not at all funny.

  • where is my Iraq war check?

  • Seriously weak.

  • That was really stupid. I want my five minutes back. By the way, the white guy started the bailouts.

  • O'Keefe and all his radical right-wing RepubliKKKaaners can simply

    GO

    TO

    HELL!!

  • O'Keefe told a friend, Liz Farkas, that he had approached Thiel with the idea for the video, and had walked away with "approximately $30,000" to produce it.

  • In February, a video called "Taxpayers Clearing House" was posted to YouTube. In it, O'Keefe and others drive around in a van with a logo on the side that looks like the "Publishers Clearing House" vehicle known for showing up and surprising sweepstakes winners with oversized checks. In O'Keefe's video, working class Blacks are shown jumping up and down in excitement - until they learn that O'Keefe is actually delivering a bill for $28,000, their share of the federal banks bailout.

  • But the Voice has learned that O'Keefe, in fact, has had heavyweight conservative backers who funded the young filmmaker as recently as a few months before his ACORN films were made.

  • James O'Keefe, the activist filmmaker who achieved sudden fame for a series of undercover videos recording ACORN workers, has repeatedly said that he is "absolutely independent" and received no outside funding to make his films.

  • This is the kind of nonsense that will eventually destroy the modern-day version of the KKK Reich-wing. It's what finally did them in during the last century. They get so bold and giddy about their own racism -- they forget to hide it.

    Rock on, morons!

  • Racists are getting bolder.

  • Just like Bush, O'Keefe is late on the scene. He's blaming Obama for Bush's monumental screw-ups, and his unfunny practical jokes on unsuspecting black people smack of racism.

  • The bank bailout was done by Bush, not Obama. If O'Keefe wants to be a journalist, and not a mediocre hack, he needs to step up his game. Mocking regular schmoes by making them think they've won the lottery is some real low shit.

  • This is some piss poor activist journalism. I don't think it's funny disturbing people in their homes and making them think they've won the publishers' clearing house. What exactly did those people do to you? I also noticed how you went to middle class black neighborhoods. What was so wrong with your own?

  • Bush eight years did this to us, so his name should be on those phony checks.

How dare they pull this prank on these people. GOP are the bottom of the barrel,

and will do anything, like blaming President Obama for their greed and mess.

God Bless President Obama, And God Bless America for living through the Bush/Cheney nightmare, and a chance to change for the better.

The GOP slaves don't want to see the light so they live in darkness no light just darkness!

  • If you think scamming people is ok, enjoy this video. President Obama has saved the economy and Republicans are scared spitless that he will get health care reform and have a successful presidency. They cannot allow that to happen.

  • Its not just Obama voters it's Americans. Today's American is fat, lazy, stupid, and liberal in that order and that includes Republicans as well as Democrats.

  • hahahahah!

  • awesome.

  • Reallly illustrates how naive some Obama voters are. Great work.

  • Yea, This was one of the funniest yet and there are more to come!

  • Great satire! :-D
