The best thing on tv when I was growing up, it cost a lot of General Lee Dodge Chargers though.they went through 2-3 an episode. If you watch the stints you can see most of them cracking in two when they land :-( but a hell of a show! ;-D

From what I can tell it's just like Smokey and the Bandit. Different paint jobs on the police cars, but same lightbars.

@er10b Dukes of Hazzard was a spin off of the Smonkey and the Bandit movies. Dukes of Hazzard always used Dodge/Plymouth and AMC police cars - Smokey and the Bandit had GM patrol cars.

@Righty736 What I meantt was that they reuse the cars that they have in Dukes of Hazzard and paint them differently depending on the county the Duke boys are being chased through - it was the same with Smokey and the Bandit - they only had a few cop cars so they gave them different paint jobs.

I think the coolest thing about that show was knowing that most of the stunt driving (besides the big jumps and bad wreckes) were done by the actors themselfs.
