Corfu - Best island in the world?

Look, i know the video shows a bunch of tourists (i brought my uni friends from Switzerland this year) but like i said my dad's from Corfu and we have an appartment in Corfu town near Garitsa, i go there every year, sometimes off season.. I know more than you may guess.. Do you really think people come to Kerkyra because of google earth?! Anyway have a nice day and good luck hiding in your backyard :-)

@qikfix what's your point? Sadly, every "paradise on earth" are eventually vanishing with mass tourism (Bali, for example), but why would you say "you are all dreamers,,,"? I don't get your point.

My dad grew up in Corfu and also tells me how things have changed, but what can you do about it? Being from Corfu, i'm sure you know about the hidden villages and remote beaches NO tourist wanders into.. Corfu still has some secret spots, and despite the mass tourism, i still find it pretty amazing!

Corfu is fantastic, we went there last year, paleokastritsa is very beautiful and the view from bella vista is breathtaking, in my view the best greek island, the people are friendly and hospitable, cant wait to go again

is it expensive to travel from canada to corfu and visit it for 3 weeks? (hotel, transportation, tickets?) What do you recommend for first time travelers?

Truthfully, yes, it would be relatively expensive, traveling from Canada to the Eurozone like that, and for that long. Having said that, avoid Kavos, as it is very far down, and base yourself, absolutely, in Corfu Town. From there, you get get to Pirgi, Paleokastritsa, Benitses, Glyfada, and other ace beaches, with the superb bus-coach system. Corfu is great. If you see any Russians, do us all a favour and shoot them. They're obnoxious and eveyone hates them.

tickets will be the most expencive. there are various of hotels, the prizes can vary a lot. Drinks are relativelly expencive comparing to the rest of Europe

Yes, there is big traffic problem in August, if you like every to go every night to the town. But what about the old town, the vegetation, the hundreds of different beaches, the traditional villages, the night life? Ok, everyone has his own opinion...

Most of the people i Know have bad memories from Corfu..1.the weather is awful: the highest humidity i 've ever seen in Greece combined with high temperatures result in conditions similar to Mexico city..2.You can;t even compare the beaches with those of Lefkada 3. You can;t compare the greenery and the seasights with those of Cefalonia
