to me it really doesnt matter because i live only like 4 block from the corn palace-so go see the black hills or something else besides the corn palace-by the way everything is made of corn, wood, brick and glue!

i live in mount vernon( town were football player Chad Greenway live) anyway i go to the corn palace every friday for basketbal games. There is a stair case that goes al the way up and yo u can see the view. Go to Mitchell during corn palace week in August. Its a big festival with rides and actiouns and tours of the corn palace. so everybody go.

Love it! Born in Raised In Mitchell South Dakota! We actually pop popcorn for the whole town when they change the scene every year. Its pretty good popcorn to. Ha.. I find it funny that you explain America by the corn palace. Everyone wishes they had one in their home town

I never have seen anything great about the corn palace. So what if the art is made of corn. If you are going to be in SD go and see the bad lands, Wall Drug or the Black Hills that is the true treasure of this state.

Reu360 check out the videos prior to this one for some scenes from the Black Hills, Rushmore and the Badlands. Being that we don't have any corn palaces in Florida it was a pretty interesting pit stop for us nontheless. Thanks for checking out the videos.

They market Wall Drug in China aparently. My dad, when he was in the military said that when he was in China he actually saw a billboard for it! I'm told that it's marketed all around the world. I agree mirandamag, it is almost weird to hear a tourists point of view about different things in South Dakota. It's neat sometimes.

I live directly behind that Giant monstrocity!! This is too funny to see from a tourist perspective. You really did not miss much on the inside. It's a giant basketball stadium with a few more corn murals and a picture of the building every year for the last 100 years. Sidenote: the brown weeds you thought were tumbleweeds are called curly dock, and they are actually just that...weeds!! I know because my yard is plagued by them every year. :)
