Nothing against the East Germans since they were perhaps one of the most successful of the eastern-bloc states. But honestly, the Soviets were monsters in comparison to the US. Good fucking riddance.
@SaucyJake The soviets were monsters against the germans. but that was only because the germans had killed 17million soviet civilians. so how can you blame them?
@TheWW2nerd The sowjets were monsters all the time in their own state, against their own people. That was no socialism. Marx said, that demogracy is the first and most important step to reach the freedom for the proletarians. Lenin had no industrial state, it was an agrar state. Not ready for communism, so he had to build a dictatorship. And that was the moment, he betrayed the communism idea. NO socialism country, was ready for socialism as they became to.
@TheWW2nerd The german people did not kill 17 million soviets. Besides, 7 million of those deaths were actually because of deliberate military action on the part of the Wehrmacht. Many soviet civilians died at the hands of the red army and because of disease and famine in war zones (i.e, 4.5 - 6 million Ukrainians).
Workers and peasants hold stronger the arms; today it is holy duty, that the people breaks the weapons of the criminals, before they are able to commit crimes. Today socialism is world power, today the peoples are not longer alone, (2x) so stronger the unity, the struggle will pay out and than will always be peace in the world.
@CharlesVariations: This song is about defending peace, democracy and socialism against US- and NATO-Imperialism. The chorus says: "Workers and peasants hold stronger the arms; today it is holy duty, that the people breaks the weapons of the criminals, before they are able to commit crimes. Today socialism is world power, today the peoples are not longer alone, so stronger the unity, the struggle will pay out and than will always be peace in the world."

From Washington they shout "Sanctions!"
don't you, don't you hear it?
"Embargo actions of punishment!",
don't you, don't you hear it?
And all this for the sake of "humanity",
they are ready to do everything for profit,
The darkest reaction is arming - against you, and the Soviet Union."
Chorus:

The US-Strategists are crying,
don't you, don't you hear it?
They are crying for new rockets
don't you, don't you hear it?
From the Rhine they are threatening with the noise of detterence,
with super weapons, neutrons and death.
That is modern day inquisition - against you, and the Soviet Union.

I translated the full lyrics into English:
The NATO ministers are crying,
don't you, don't you hear it?
Their crying is no longer whisper,
don't you, don't you hear it?
they are crying for profit for their war industry,
and arm themselves again to an crusade, like never before.
Their army stands ready for aggression - against you, and the Soviet Union.

is this song about an offensive action against capitalism? Where Der Heimliche Aufmarsch is about defending Socilaism, USSR?
