Bhi an aimsir fliuch agus gaofar ar maidin. Nollaig faoi shean is faoi mhaise duit! De reir a cheile a thogtar na caisleain...haha, but clannad have always done it.
@SaorEire What they did with combining synthetisers with traditional backround is great. It is a pity that puristic attitudes and gatekeepers want to keep things as they are. The same comments of selling out are typical in every genre of music be it metal or whatever. Should the band play outside the club or bar of 100 or sell more than 50 self made CD:s it is a sell out. Many new innovative styles of music would not have been invented e.g folkrock if listening the no electric guitar people.
This video blows me out of the water. Moyas eyes are pure passion, man on FIRE. I was in Gweedore in Aug 2010 and what a great experience: Mount Errigal, Dunfanaghy Loop, Lucky Shell Beach......its the wilderness I was looking for. Eire mo chroi, gra Allan.

More Celtic Languages (continuing the stretch :) )
Another 2 languages of the Celtic family are still alive and kicking: Welsh (in Wales) and Breton (in Brittany, France). Those two are closely related and are mutually intelligible. They belong to a different (older) branch of the Celtic language family than the branch of the trio Irish/Manx/Scottish.
The three languages Irish, Scottish, and Manx, used to be the same language, and drifted apart during the middle ages. Manx (spoken on the isle of Man) is now “officially” extinct, as the last native speaker died (On the Internet I have found claims that the truth is not so, but it is definitely not a thriving language).
On Scottish Gaelic: (continuing a comment by rufus566 from 3 weeks ago):
The Scottish variety of Gaelic is called "Scottish Gaelic" (or Scots Gaelic),
to differentiate it from Scottish English, the Scottish variety of English.
Scots Gaelic is spoken in the Highlands of Scotland (inasmuch as it is still spoken), and Scottish English is spoken in the Lowlands. Note, by the way, that Scottish English is a different variety of English than just “Standard” English with a Scottish accent.
'GO HOME WITH YOU' Go home with you, go home with you Go home with you Mary Go home with you and stay at home For your match is made 1. Marry the piper, marry the piper Marry the piper Mary Marry the piper early at night And you'll have him 'til morning.
@Illuminateur No. This video was put up by TG4, the official Irish language station here in Ireland. I also learnt this in my Music class. They aren't wrong at all.
there was one album around 1985 that i think was mushrooms that had a song about henry's gluttony, "more meat ,more meat , more meat to feed king henry gluttony, bring him his dogs, to feed his pleasantries, and he will make them gone too where their neither hide nor hair" i think !!
Irish is one of the three Goidelic languages of the British isles. It is the parent language of Scottish Gaelic and the Manx language. Irish in itself is Gaelic but is usually only referred to as such when compared to the other two languages. Scottish gaelic is so called because it has many Germanic non Gaelic sources in it. Irish and manx are pure gaelic so can just be called Irish and manx without the gaelic moniker. Hope that helped.
