The snake at the beginning is real, but the eating part is ridiculously fake. The snake would take much longer to consume a girl that size. The girl would scream when bitten, before the coils secured her chest and neck. The 'snake' swallowing her feet at the end looked like it was made from a painted balloon. Nifty... but certainly not very realistic.

(Of course... most movies with animals killing people have been famously absurd... and this is no exception.)
