@redhouse246 Technics sl1200 - dj mixer/analogue mixer line out - 'Y' adaptor(stereo phono jacks to quarter inch 'trs'stereo jack) - Korg Es1 'line in'.
If you plug a turntable direct to the ES1 it will be too quiet, so it has to be pre amped first. A cheap pre amp or any dj mixer will work fine.
@redhouse246 thats not true at all you can plug a turntable straight into an electribe mk2. all you do if its too quiet is go to sample mode. find the sample that is too quiet hit shift and i believe its the number six on your sequencer it should say normalize under it. it will straighten your sample out. although most likely if you have a turntable you've got a mixer. but i mean shit its a sampler you can sample from anything with an rca output.
I'm looking into the es1 and like it, but i've been trying to figure out - can you load a single sample of let's say C and have a scale made of it - c#,d,d#, e, f, etc.? Something like the multi-pitch function in the SP1200. Or do you have to resample each sample into the respective tones of the scale and write it so you can record some melodies in real time?
@Elektriber Yes you can adjust sample tempo, however this raises or lowers the pitch which could cause tuning issues when layering samples. There is a 'timestretch' effect in the effects which is cool though, and also a timeslice function which is useful for keeping pitch at any tempo. You can resample this to free up the timeslice again and again.
@Elektriber Great! The ES is an amazing machine. It may seem limited at first but once you start tweaking and re-sampling you can get some really great results. The only differences between mk1 and 2 is the metal case,new control knob(worse imo),the sample 'in' gain control moved to the rear and some new pre-load samples(now deleted on mine). Im sure you will have a lot of fun with it! Il PM you a link to the software you may find handy for importing samples to and from the SM card.
Nice job! The voice effect and guitar remind me of dj shadow a little but the drums are siiick! where'd you get that bass and snare.

So I was contemplating Rm1x vs ES mk2 vs EM-1... And you just helped me make up my mind. 32khz does not sound like grit on most of ur samples.
Nice patterns from those samples man. Cant wait to get mine!! :)

nice,great to see some nice low tempo beats on this box,other than the usual,predictable hard techno shite that everyone seems to be doing.

Can you adjust the sample to the tempo on the ES-1 or the tempo on ES-1 has to be ajusted to the sample's tempo?
