  • I was thinking on building one but I guess it's already been done.

  • Will you have this on Shapeways anytime? Lol, late response, but I'd really consider buying one of these.

  • ugh! i want stl files!!!

  • the thing is a goddamn beast.

  • it looks unstable. if it locks, does it pop?

  • it does not pop by it self.

but you can do it with force

  • When it shape shifts does it act like a 2x2x4?

  • it works like 2 2x2x4 indeed.

that's how I managed to solve it :D

  • I love it!

  • its really loose

  • just thinking technology that great out there wow! lol

  • So, is there any chance this will go into commercial reproduction? You should patent the mechanism, because I'd buy three of those babies as soon as they hit the market.

  • the chanse that a custom puzzle gets produced is minimal..

so don't expect it to come.

but don't loose hope either :P

  • @olz91 a good thing to happen is if you strike a deal with Rubik or cube4you or Meffert or any other company you'd have a good chance.

  • sorry this was already done by cube1042

  • sorry cube1042 doesnt exist on youtube, and you may want to check the date of the video.. sorry. olz was the first.

  • his video came out in 06

    this came out in 09

  • his video isnt on youtube or online. there's no proof, sorry.

  • he was thought

  • cube1042 indeed came out 1st but it does not have same sized cubies as compared to olz. anyway the mech are different

  • where did you get CAD and how much did it cost

  • could i get the CAD files for this?

  • no, they are private...

  • ok. i just cant get a good program for designing masters... took me 3 weeks to make a design for a 1x2x3

  • 3 weeks?!!

    it takes me 3 minutes.

    what program did you use?

  • the only program i could find, google sketchup.

  • ...

    sketchup sux,

I have used it before and I was pretty good a t cubes,

    I made anything from v-cube 13 to 3x4x5.

but when it comes to making it work and 3d print.

    AVOID SKETCHUP!!!

  • then what should i use? everything is like $500

  • use alibre design, its a free download

  • i dont get what 3d printing or CAD is. can you tell me?

  • did u pateent this and try to sell it!!!!

  • a patent costs way to much for me...

  • is that a mini 2x2 in the middle?

  • yes

  • does it change shape

  • or wait is so that it cant shape shift?

  • yes it can...

  • really nice puzzle but one question why do the centers look like that?

  • it's so that the corners have something to hang on to when turned 90 degreese

  • master domino

floppy cube is a cube wich only haves one layer

  • btw how come it squeaks?

  • it's the friction betwen the mooving pieces.

  • ok i get why now

  • it looks a bit too loose :/

  • I know...

the centers were messed up during the casting process and made it loose...

  • I'd call it a Master Domino

  • not domino

    master floppy

  • no, because floppy was 3x3x1, and domino was 3x3x2,

the 4x4x2 should be master DOMINO

  • the floppy is increased by 1 3x3x1 4x4x2 5x5x3 the twistypuzzles post was called higher order floppy cubes

  • its a floppy master domino if you think about it :P

  • It sounds awesome! I like the center design and the shapeshifting!

  • can you make a tutorial on how to use rhino properly? not that i dont know how to use cad (im very good in solidworks) i just cant get rhino to work with me well.

  • a tutorial might come in the future :P

  • =O

loose, but hey nobody s perfect lol

    still amazing

  • Great Job dude, keep up the good work. I still can't get myself to finish my slim tower

  • That's some good engineering right there!
