The kings powers were restored in Italy by the"Grand council of fascists" who decided to get rid of Mussolini because of his incompetence.
Hitler purged the leftwing of party in the night of long knives.

The economy under fascism was widely intervened; it was nothing similar to bourgeois conservatism. Up to a certain point, we inherited a fascist style economy in Europe after the war: state ownership of big businesses, much higher taxes than before the 1930s, a huge national welfare system...Before WWII, scandinavian social democrats openly admired some points of fascism

@theivangrozhny2010 Untrue. Any business that didn't do what the government demanded was nationalized, such as the Junkers (Germany Aristocracy). They refused to produce for the government as for them it would mean profit loss, so within a week Nazi troops occupied the factories and he was booted out.

But that is not socialism. Many German capitalists who supported Hitler remained in power. The profits of those pro-Nazi capitalists were not in state control. The Nazis paid companies like IG Farbe. So the Nazi Government was never in full control of all companies. Before the war, they nationalized only one company, that was the Reichsbahn ( Railways ).

@UDSS No, not all. The profits made by the pro nazi "capitalists" were only allowed so long as they served the state, as they didn't have enough money to buy from companies they weren't controlling. Entrepreneurship was banned and small businesses were clumped into corporations and "semi-nationalized", whilst the large companies still kept their owners so long as they benefitted the state, and shared it. This made Hitler far more liberal than Lenin.

In case you were not aware, "national socialist" = conservative fascist. Socialists tend to reject the importance of the national identity, as they see all people being equal. (Say what you want about how they implement it) This sort of misrepresentation of terminology would indicate that the LDP (Liberal Democratic Party) of Japan are leftists (patently untrue), and that North Korea is a democratic society. A man can call a dog's tail a leg. Doesn't make it a leg.

@twilightwyrm Fascists were not conservatives at all. Of course not on the economy. Social liberalism/conservatism meant nothing at that time, since today multiculturalism or sexual, gender and racial diversity issues were not part of the political agenda.

Yes, Hitler's Socialism was a nationalist One-Party Socialism in Germany. Therefore other socialist, communist and conservative parties were destroyed and outlawed. Hitler didn't oppose Marxism's socialist elements, but its democratic, international features. Many Communists actually joined the Nazis after 1933.
