Wow. I vaguely recall commenting on this or the Mosz. a long time ago but I thought it had disappeared. Very interesting to see the similarities. I wanted to add "a good choice would be the Ignaz Brull Piano Concerto No. 2 in C Op. 24--a veritable fairyland of glorious c major harmonies. I learned it many years ago (it's not too difficult) but never had an orchestra to play it with." but there wasn't enough room to add that. Thanks again for all your hard work (thumbs up sign)

Magnificent! I bought an original LP pressing of Solyom's performance back in the 70's.Proselytized it like crazy to any pianist friends of mine who would take the time to listen.Never really made a sale on it though.People are so stuck in the standards they won't take the trouble to listen some unsung masterpieces. Love the way Stenhammer brings the 3rd movement them back in full brass at the end.Deviantrake does an invaluable service bringing these forgotten piano concertos to listeners.

Thanks for adding this, one of the unsung GREAT piano concertos of the literature. I discovered this recording waaayyy back in the seventies when I was collecting unknown piano concertos and this, along with the Moszkowski, were my favorites. Has everything a pianist needs to WOW the audience: great melodies, pyrotechnical piano writing, superb orchestration and all that glorious brass at the end. I hope more YouTube listeners discover this!!

You're welcome. I have also put the Moszkowski concerto on youtube. I agree, this should be much more well known than it is, and the first concerto too. You'll see on my page I have a number of relatively unknown piano concertos, much more to come too. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
