  • Is that a sexy timing light or what? look at that bad boy!!! XD

  • @jonathan99786 Ah, ah, ah, - It works OOOOUT!

  • Dear Sir: I have a 1998 Toyota Corolla 1600cc mechanic. But there is not any sticker that explains the exact ignition timming for my car, ¿Do you have an idea about the correct ingnition timming(TDC) i need to adjust for my car?. ¿Can you recommend to me a good Timming light brand that can last much longer than the Chineese timming lights? . My chineese timming light lasted few minutes and never illuminated again, Thank you for your help

  • @Fuerzalavasoriana The timing for that should be about 10 BTDC. Actron, craftsman, and Snap-on all make good ones.

  • @briansmobile1 Thank you very much for your aid. I appreciate tremendously your prompt answer. Regards

  • How would you check the timing or change it on a 98 grand cherokee tho ? Because i was told on these Jeeps the timing is set by the computer and there is no way to change it except by the computer itself

  • @1ownjoo2 There's nothing to "check" it's factory set and can adapt for temp and altitude using an intake air temp sensor and either a map or maf.

  • Holy Crap that battery is gunked up!

  • @nightmathzombieethan It's just that my T-light is so clean ; )

  • HEY!! THANKS FOR YOUR TIPS BRIANSMOBILE1

  • @TheBBLACKDRAGON YOU'RE WELCOME!!!!!!!

  • I love this video. It's general enough that it applies to most applications, yet still includes enough detail to be extremely helpful. Kudos, thank you, and subscribed.

  • @AlMair Cars have "timing advance." Some by vacuum lines to a means on the distributor, and other are computer controlled. This advance helps compensate for doppler effect creep. Hondas have a jumper wire you can disable it with. You can plug vacuum lines too. Timing advance or BTDC (before top dead center) meaning when the plug fires is advanced or fired early because the air/fuel mix doesn't burn instantly. It doesn't take long, but long enough to require a head start.

  • do you work for your self or do u do this for side job

  • @mwd92 This is what I do everyday.

  • I have seem to have found the sweet spot on my 383. It's rippin but the exhaust is super strong. If i drive my truck my cloths reak like exhaust. Can't figure it out.

  • @hpjunky70 You may be running too rich.

  • @briansmobile1 I'm thinking so too and w/that my edelbrock is a 600 that was dynoed with the engine and now that i think about it my 383 with my Holly (which was also dynoed for the engine by AED) has never done this when on the engine. AED insisted i change the springs in my MSD Pro Distributer and i'm wondering if that has something to do with it. I believe it jumps to full advance lickity split. Maybe that's not compatible with the Edelbrock. Is it fuel or timeing?

  • @briansmobile1 This all started when i went back to my edelbrock for the winter being it has a choke and it seems to get better gas milage but now i'm almost ready to put the 4150 back on being it almost started better with the Holly. Even when it was below 0. That carb works as good as my throttle body. I'm wondering if what AED had me do to the distributer isn't compatible w/the Edelbrock?

  • hey will an engine start if it's off timing? because I'm thinking it has to start in order to set the timing, but then people say bad timing will cause an engine not to start. What's the truth?Thx

  • @adomayor If the timing is off due to mechanical misalignment of the belt or chain etc. It won't start. If the marks are all aligned properly it WILL start, but may miss and stumble.

  • ok im new at this ok what war you turning ??? to make the pin move ??? u loosen a bolt that holds the cap but what war you turning

  • @Brendaspaperclip *I was turning the distributor.

  • @briansmobile1 ok i figured it out i passed smog at13btdc yay !!!!!!! but i had to set it back to 20 after driving on the freeway cuz the motor started overheating the guy at the smog station said that running my car on 20 will ruin my engine is this true ???? and if so how bad how fast?? (toyota cam 91)

  • @Brendaspaperclip Setting it at the factory spec is best. (everything) That means jumper terminals TE1 (V6) or TC (V8) & E1 of diag. Connector under hood with a paper clip and have the engine warmed up with the AC off and set the timing to 10 degrees BTDC. Without the jumper paperclip in the Diagnostic plug it will read between 13 and 22 BTDC.

  • the nissan pathfinder 1996 3.3 vg33e is the same engine for nissan xterra 2000

    is the same

  • good quick tip video

  • @metalxesp Thanks for the feedback ; )

  • rightous

  • @SgtMcCools1 This sounds like a good topic for myth busters. My block heater is an energy pig, and I don't idle to warm up, I try to warm up on the go. You have to consider all costs and gains. Of couse that would include any engine damage I might do by driving on an engine that is not completely warmed up....

  • You are a videomaking machine

  • @grawey77 I love what I do. I have a University degree in business- I like this better. People don't have a lot of money right now to even fix their cars, but they have time. Every video I make helps peoples cars be safer or run cleaner. (or just get to work). It's important to me. Knowledge is power and the narcissists that oppress think the voters are ignorant because they let them get a way with selling their liberty for safety and they wind up with neither. I believe in empowering people!

  • @briansmobile1 I find you to be inspiring there was no need for the long explanation unless it was for the sake of others.

  • @grawey77 I saw a hole shot for a soap box and took it! lol

  • what brand is your timing light?

  • @virris88 Actron

  • @SwampBogger I'm flattered. I feel like some one responsible should be saying "don't encourage him!"

  • so awesome. and i dont understand the whole heating of oxygen thing you where on about is that only so the sensor work better ? as the air itself has more oxygen in when cold hence inter coolers which i am sure you already know but the heating thing you mentioned confused me :/

  • @Shroffff The car idles high until it's warmed up. This make the timing marks go to the left from where they should be. (too advanced)

  • @Shroffff Plus O2 sensors only work above a certain temperature, and until then won't give a proper reading, which is necessary to create a 14.7/1 air/fuel mixture; along with that the fuel wont vaporize as effectively till the manifold is up to operating temp (220 degrees I think) so most systems usually idle high and run rich till then.

  • @nightmathzombieethan Check out the big brains on Ethan! That's all correct info.

  • @briansmobile1 Royale with cheese! LOL

  • @nightmathzombieethan You are a smart futher mucker! That's right. The metric system.

  • DATS A PURDY TIMIN LAMP YA GOT THUR SPORT.

  • I always wondered how to do timing but how do you adjust it?? Thanks!!

  • @ndchevy I think you loosen the distributor cap and rotate it to advance or retard the timing and then you bolt it back down when its adjusted it right. i THINK i am not 100%

  • @fleetwoodsucks You are correct sir. That bolt he had the crow's foot on was the retaining bolt. Loosen that bolt, and do the rest of what you said.

  • your mother created your channel?

  • @fleetwoodsucks it was a joke, like his mom really named him

    briansmobile1

  • @jsnyara why not? mobile one is a cool last name

  • @jsnyara Like George Foreman, she liked the name. My brother is briansmobile2

  • @fleetwoodsucks Yes. Yes she did.

  • @briansmobile1 why?
