There's also the scene where Gordon breaks down after he learns about what's happening to his family and when he hears gunshots at his house. I thought Elwes did a good job there as well.

There was some good acting in Saw...but that wasn't the best scene to show. The scenes where Adam begins to panic near the end, and where they are arguing, and all the scenes where Dr. Gordon is crying about his familiy are much better.

Guy's Cary's acting does NOT suck. Lawrence is a very calm natured character, he doesn't get angered easily. Cary played that kind of character spot on. Just because Adam was more freaked than Lawrence, doesn't mean Leigh was the better actor. Adam was a more angry, anxious character. While lawrnece was a more calm character. Leigh and Cary simply acted out their characters naturally. You guys are blaming the actors when it's not the actors fault!

Leigh Whannell was pretty good: I think it was easier to like his character though, which is why some of us may have been more biased towards him. (For example... wanting him to stay alive! :))

I don't mean to be rude anyone, but towards the end I don't think he was as good as Adam. He was fantastic yes, he really was, but I prefered Leigh Whanell's acting through-out the whole film. I still think Cary is an awsome actor though. <3

Yeah, you can hear it a little bit, but thats what gives him character. You never know what a word will sound like when he says it. In a good way, though. :]

I didn't know Carey Elwes was British, must have been the reason why he was so comfortable in Robin Hood: Men In Tights. He was able to speak his native accent throughout the entire movie.

I thought he was quite good.. As for his naysayers, how would YOU have acted it? I don't think people give enough credit to actors, and this is just an example of that. Have you seen Kiss the Girls? He was really good in that.

good point, but the acting was sub-par, and it does not take a critic to witness or understand that. This movie was filmed in just a few weeks, which is redic, the only way it reached the box office was bec of the revolutionary idea. Saw 2 and 3 were much better.

You're kidding, right? He's lived in America for 27 years, so it would be hard NOT to have an American accent. Check this interview out with him from 2001. Elwes accent is right on the money with being American. It wasn't the "lack" of accent, it's because of his acting, or lack thereof.

I watched the whole movie, twice. He sucked in this movie, along with the rest of the movies he has been in. That's just how I feel, along with a majority of movie watchers. Have you read the reviews on "Saw?" Many, if not most, reviews target not only the poor storyline, but Elwes' acting. Google it and read!
