OMG. I'm from Arkansas and still lives here in Little Rock. Just came to your channel by way of trying to find out how to cook chitterlings. I remember this ice storm, but it wasn't that bad here in Little Rock, but I do remember it being really bad in other places. I'm really glad that I stopped by your channel. You are adorable.
You sure do get hit with some crazy weather in your area. Last summer the rain you had for weeks and the lake overflowing the bridge. Now the ice storms, oh my. Good thing you bought the generator. Stay safe.
Brutal! I've been through some ice storms, in fact I've been through one too many. That's why I live in Florida. You all really did get smacked, and the damage that much ice can do is horrifying! Sad thing about some of those big old trees is that if they've survived they'll never be the same.
Oh my goodness. You all go through the same thing we do when we have hurricanes. After the year 2004 we went through the same thing with the electric going on and then off. We bought a generater too. I dont know what is worse the 100 degree wheather or the below 0 wheather. My prayer are with you and a big kiss for all the volunteer work and the great additude to know it is because you are part of the community.
glad you are ok & didn't have too much personal loss due to the storm. i'm sure you were a welcome sight to some of the folks who were stranded in the mountains. kudos (even tho you said you weren't looking for that) ;)
I'm in KY, just came back from living in Canada and it's not the entire state. It's most of the north & north-western parts of KY, like Louisville, Lexington, and such. A week & a half after people were still without power and 40 deaths were related to it.
I'm so glad you are safe, even though I know it was stressful to deal with the outages and loss of modern conveniences. Update us as soon as you can as to how the recovery continues to progress. You might also invest in some oil lamps for lights. They don't give off a huge amount of light, but they're better than candles.
We have been praying for you all there Joy! THinking of you always. Miss you and hope to hear more from you again soon. Stay warm and safe please HUGS xoxoxo

Oh ok, it is still bad though. Hubby miss informed me on that part.

Hubby told me that the ice storm was in the North part. We had that all happen to us in 2000 before I moved here and just after my family did.
