@gilbreath1013 Yeah, yours is a 12 valve, which he's right, they're not computer controled like the 24 valve. But like I said to supersploosherful, injectors are cheap and give you a ton of power. Other than that, it's just mainly internal engine work from there. Check with your local diesel shop for more information.

Tips for going the best way possible for your engine, straight pipe with a tuner/programmer. The newer cummins will blow mad smoke with just the two.

@geartripper91 Agree my friend, I used to have a 2001 F350 with the 7.3L and I drove it daily what a nice truck good power pretty good on fuel awsome in the winter. I sold it, and bought a 2006 2500 reg cab cummins 5.9, the truck is just so damn torquey compared to the ford they do have crazy power in a small engine. But that 7.3L cruised way better on the highway to me, 70mph no problem. So ya all trucks have something good, I love the older f150's great trucks just recent bought a 87' idi

BUT I just found out after getting a speeding ticket and using a gps, that my speedometer is off, so actually the truck is running at a low/smooth 2200rpm around 65mph so its perfect now! I love my 2006 cummins 5.9L Ill have to get a video up for you guys, its nothing fancy but its a 6 spd, long box single cab 4x4 with a 5 inch exhuast system and its great mpg

I just read that the Govt is about to pass a bill making it mandatory that all Diesel trucks be tested every 2 years like cars have to. Engines can only burn what they did stock. Supposed to take effect in 2012. Some rural counties will be exempt, but the other places won't. All 50 states. They have been keeping it on the QT but it is coming. Swaping parts every 2 years will be a pain.

I respect your truck, I personally like Fords but I have a great respect for Cummins and the power they are famous for (sounding like a Kenworth dont hurt ether). I also like the stacks, did you have them done or do it yourself? For all you haters, shut the hell up. Its a nice truck and powerful at that. Shut the hell up and drive whatever the hell you drive. I drive a 95 F-150 and even with the bad rollers I can go fast, but power is another thing. RESPECT the Cummins, its a damn good engine.

@geartripper91 Agree my friend, I used to have a 2001 F350 with the 7.3L and I drove it daily what a nice truck good power pretty good on fuel awsome in the winter. I sold it, and bought a 2006 2500 reg cab cummins 5.9, the truck is just so damn torquey compared to the ford they do have crazy power in a small engine. But that 7.3L cruised way better on the highway to me, 70mph no problem. So ya all trucks have something good, I love the older f150's great trucks just recent bought a 87' idi

@rlog41 Hey there I missed explaining better. I found my truck at 70mph or so was way to high in the rpm range compared to the 7.3L. BUT I just found out after getting a speeding ticket and using a gps, that my speedometer is off, so actually the truck is running at a low/smooth 2200rpm around 65mph so its perfect now! I love my 2006 cummins 5.9L Ill have to get a video up for you guys, its nothing fancy but its a 6 spd, long box single cab 4x4 with a 5 inch exhuast system and its great mpg

@kelleyj1837 Its nice to have BOTH an efficient car and a truck. It gets unaffordable to drive a truck everywhere getting 10 mpg when you drive 45 mi. round. $4 * ~4 Gal = $16/day! If the Dems would drill for oil and stop devaluing the Currency, fuel prices wouldnt be so high! In High School 10 years ago i paid ~$1/gal.
Reality is there are other bills to pay and investments to make which are ultimately more important than drivin in style all the time. Didnt learn that til i was a bit older

It gets better mileage than my neighbors hybrid lol.. therefor it would take a much bigger difference in fuel price to even justify a hybrid especially with a hybrids insane maintenance cost

@nextrider123 my cummins will blow your fucking integra off the road, we can chain up and i'll pull it down the road, i've got a LOT better gas mileage than you, so i wont need to pay the extra 5 cents as much as you buy gas, and when you get in a crash because you think you're cool and fast, have fun wreckin your nissan whereas a crew cab 8' bed will maybe get a few dents. i've owned a few gassers, and it costed more for fuel assnuts

@blondeguy08 ya, but u guys think turning the injector pump up u r getting more power ur actually hurting the power/torque and wasting fuel unless you have supporting mods such as biggr turbo-more boost, or a programmer, ect but even then its still just unburnt fuel hence the "soot"

@nextrider123 you have no idea what your talking about buddy..... you obviously have never built a diesel truck up...... we can get 185hp+ on these trucks ONLY turning the pump stretch and timing up and allowing for more boost........ ppump & cp3 can do about the same without any other mods...... more fuel = more boost = more air = more hp......... these trucks are built with a factor of safety of 2.14 therefor have a lot of safe room to grow.

I just read that the Govt is about to pass a bill making it mandatory that all Diesel trucks be tested every 2 years like cars have to. Engines can only burn what they did stock. Supposed to take effect in 2012. Some rural counties will be exempt, but the other places won't. All 50 states. They have been keeping it on the QT but it is coming. Swaping parts every 2 years will be a pain.
