Every marine has to specialise every 2 years (unless they specialise once and like their job) and because they're self-sustained they need to pick guys at random to do the shitty jobs. After 2 years, that clerk will choose to move on to something else and because being a clerk is so shit, he gets first choice on the cool stuff. For this reason, many MLs, SBS guys, recce operators etc started their careers as clerks.
@Kapernicusi Britain is officially classed as being in Europe, it's just not part of the mainland, but due to to the definition of continent and it being a collection of island people also class it as a separate entity. So its some ones opinion whether its part of Europe or not, atleast look things like this up before you force your opinion down some ones throat.
