This game should have defined a generation of all RPGs. It's a pity this game has fallen into great obscurity and lost to only the few who have enjoyed it in its debut. Hell, the game has received more attention only through emulation and import gaming than it has through its North American release. Tragic really. Imagine if games like Chrono Trigger or Xenogears were dealt with such a fate? What would become of the RPG genre without their hands of inspiration?

The best protagonist and antagonist in whole game series from SquareSoft. I remember when I was 10 and my friend gave me that game, it was sth like "oh shit, what a game". I stuck in first attemp, that was puzzle in Temple of Kiltie, around six months of thinking about it and someday at dinner i finally get it ;)

I think Vagrant Story was such a good game. It was different and, as we can see, the music was great and I think it had a pretty good story. It's too bad that, actually, not a lot of people either know this game or bother to remember it. I still have it , though the disk is just a bit scratched up. lol.

Ya know, I've played this game but just couldn't get into it. Unfortunately it also meant missing out on hearing and enjoying the music. All I remember is the opening theme with its VERY well done belly dancer. I guess I should dig this up as well... Love me some Sakimoto.

The interesting thing to me is that while other Final Fantasy games have ventured out with various prequels & sequels, Final Fantasy 12 already had a universe built around it before it was even released with Vagrant Story & the FF Tactics series. Square's marketing team doesn't pull any punches any more.

FFTactcis & Vagrant Story are still Hitoshi Sakamoto's best work. Breath of Fire 5 and Odin Sphere are good too.
