Even though the movie was mediocre, nothing special, it was still a hell of an entertaining movie. I thought the hilarious actor playing an actor playing an actor playing a character bit with the main character was really funny, too.

P.S.

Anyone who complains about how the movie wasn't enough like the comic, like with any other movie, needs to shut the fuck up. The team behind this movie can't please everyone with a complete comic adaption, or vice versa. There has to be a line drawn.

I loved the hell out of this movie. I didn't even see the plot twist coming. Glad I took a film class this year to be less ignorant.

I guess if you've seen hardly any important movies, the more you will enjoy Wanted.

I will stand by my point that the human-based action is much better than the crappy kung-fu that looks like it came out of the Buffy the vampire slayer movie that is in The Dark Knight.

Hey now, i liked Shoot Em Up. Taken on the merits of being a ridiculously over the top movie parodying other movies of the genre, it was alot of fun.

Too bad Wimmer fucked up so hard with Ultraviolet. Because of all the bad reviews, I managed to keep myself from watching it for a long time. But then I just HAD to see it. I WANTED to like it so bad, but apart from a few moments it's just a terrible disappointment.

The director of Shoot 'em Up needs to watch more HK era Woo and learn from the camera angles/movement and pacing.

Nah but seriously, that's all this is is a weird mix of the Matrix and Fight Club. I'd watched Fight Club again right before I saw this and I was like, "Wow, this complacent office drone stereotype isn't going away" when Wanted started up.

This is a good DVD own for me, something you'd watch on a Saturday night when the wife's out with her girlfriends and you've got a six pack of beer and time to waste.

I couldn't warm to this movie. It didn't even have that so-bad-its-good appeal. McAvoy is typically bland and charmless and the whole movie has a mean-spirited, unpleasant feel to it. Like it was made by a dimwitted fratboy... or an ineffectual Russian. :-p

Nice review. You summed up the movie pretty well, although I have to disagree with your comment on Shoot 'em up. It may not be as good as say Crank, but it's still a hell of a lot of fun. The first time I saw Shoot'em I had a stupid grin on my face during the entire movie. I can understand why some people can dislike it and I respect that, but Clive Owen killing baddies with carrots is just stupidly awesome in my opinion.

The movie was so bad it was good. It was so over the top and stupid it was enjoyable as a one of those movies you dont mind pulling a MST3K on while at the cinema.

Only thing that bugged me was that hearing that it was based on a comic book I was expecting to see a lil more variety in the guns. I wanted to see a gun with a pair of Six-shooters, some one with a Mini gun and a rocket launcher at some point. Curving the rocket !

I read the comics this movie was "based" on. It featured, among other things, a pile of shit and a mentally retarded Superman expy that lacks the wit of Bizarro among the antagonists. The last few pages consisted of Mark Millar using his rape happy murderous assassin protagonist as a mouthpiece for his issues with the people who bought his work. The last line in the comic just pissed me off.

Far as I'm concerned, that the movie is so removed from the source is a mark in the movie's favor.

It was an entertaning movie. I totally see what you meant when you said "Mcavoy plays Shia, playing Norton."

I like Mcavoy, but you can really tell he's trying really hard to be a spaz. I was able to enjoy the movie so much more when he got into his training in the Faternity.

I did like the league of assassins concept, but a lot fo that is due to the fact that I loved Assassin's Creed.

All in all, this was gold in comparrison to Hitman.

I actually like Shoot Em Up a lot. I hated Wanted. Shoot Em Up is terrible if you take it seriously. The movie is meant to be a ridiculous, over the top, cheese fest of a spoof. Satirical in its seriousness.

I have to say, when I saw Freeman blurted our "motherfucker" near the end of the movie, the theater audience laughed loud enough to make me think that scene was more significant than some of the other scenes in the movie. Freeman drops the mofo-bomb with such conviction that your think the old guy sitting behind you is the one that said it.

I love all you videos....but I have to disagree with this review. I loved this movie. I also had no knowledge of it's previous graphic novel form. Perhaps that helps the experience? Whatever the case your a great speaker. But I thought that movie was fantastic.

I know it's a parody, I'm just not sure it was an especially successful one. Just BEING a schlocky action movie doesn't mean you're commenting on them, and the cheezy gun-control message doesn't count. It's fun, but it's a train wreck - and the action scenes aren't even really THAT great.

Possibly, but here's the problem: It takes two hours to watch a movie for a review. Game reviews, I feel, you have to play through all or most of the game to really weigh in properly and I just am not in the financial or available-time situation to do that right now. It took me several MONTHS to get through Mario Galaxy an hour or so a night, for example.
