  • Another question: I don't evade, I pass the horror check, decide to flee but I don't succeed and get the combat damage. Can I try to flee once again or do I first engage into combat again before returning to the "fight or flee" decision?

    Thanks!

  • @jfilipcic You can only flee after a full round of combat (horror check + combat check). Each time you don't flee you would have another combat check (and then you can try to flee again).

  • Let's say I don't succeed in evading a monster... I do a horror check and then flee successfully. As I technically engaged in combat, I can't move on and I have to evade/fight it again on the next turn, right? So if I have more monsters on the same location, as soon as I don't evade one of them, do I have to evade all the survivors again? So, at that point, either I kill a monster or I have to evade it twice (once in each turn), right?

  • @jfilipcic Once a monster is evaded, you don't deal with it again that turn. You always deal with each monster individually each turn, so if there are a few monsters on your location, you may end up fighting some and evading some.

  • So it atake 3 turns for you to go all the way though a gate/outrelem ?

  • @JonahHex803 3 turns at the least, if you're not delayed: 1st turn, go into the gate, have an encounter. 2nd turn, move to second part of Other World, have an encounter. 3rd turn, return to Arkham, try to close/seal the gate.

  • Thank you man you' re awesome!!!

  • Hi! At 7:33 you show monster with a dash symbol for the horror check value. Does it mean you don't roll a horror check at all? Thanks in advance.

  • @hoarmurath Yes, you're correct. No Horror Check needed in that case.

  • What happens when you encounter 2 monsters at a location? Do you fight both? If so, do you fight them individually or at the same time?

  • @paolodwapo You have to either enter combat or attempt to Evade both of them, one at a time. You can Evade one and fight one, or Evade both, or fight both.

  • Does combat continue until the hero or the monster is dead?

  • @TyberiusDeAngelo After each round of combat, the investigator has the option to attempt to Flee, but otherwise, combat continues until the monster is dead or the investigator is insane or unconscious.

  • @Grudunza THANK YOU

  • I might have missed it (I did try to find it on my own) but what do you do with flying monsters in the sky, do they swoop down whenever theres an investigater in the streets, or do they only swoop down when there symbol comes up on a mythos card and its the monsters movement I'm playing it like they swoop down whenever someones in the street but thats bad news for Jenny.

  • @RogueDragon05 Like all monsters, they would only move if their symbol comes up on the Mythos card.

  • So, players can't give each other clues when on the same space?

  • @BaileyBorough No, Clues cannot be traded normally.

  • OH! I was also wondering if you would draw 2 other world encounter cards (one for each movement in the other world).

  • @PantsofHate Yes, you draw one the first turn that you move to the other world, then on the next turn you move to the next section of the other world and draw an encounter there. Then, assuming you're still alright, on the following turn you move back to Arkham and attempt to close/seal the gate.

  • this might be a really dumb question but, what happens when you evade a monster but you have no movement points left?

  • @PantsofHate In that case, you stay in the same location as the monster... but you don't need to fight it.

  • @PantsofHate evading a monster has the effect of that you dont need to fight it in THAT movement phase, so if you evade a monster but cant move on, you have to evade or fight it in your next turn.

  • What happens if there is more than one monster in the same location or street area? How do you resolve this situation.

    Great tutorial though!

  • @Jeorney You deal with them one at a time. You choose which order. Either Evade or fight each of them.

  • why did you do this in a hotel! I find that funny. But hey, when ya gotta play, ya gotta play.

  • @gaozhi2007 Had the day off alone in a motel... I'd been looking for a good time to get that done, and it seemed ideal.

  • @Grudunza

Ha, ok. It's just funny, in a good way, I suppose. I mean, why is this guy so in love with this game that he has it in his suitcase, and why does he feel compelled to spend hours alone in his motel doing a review? So many intriguing questions......the things we do for our games......

  • @gaozhi2007 Heh, no doubt. But in this case, it's probably that I travel a lot and have many hours alone in motels. AH is a good way to pass the time. :oP

  • @Hellwasfunny Gates open from the Mythos cards, and sometimes from encounters.

  • Do you continue your movement after defeating monster? or you lose rest of your movement points and stay where you fought him?

  • @warshke Once you encounter a monster you're movement ends for that turn. In order to move past a monster you have to pass an Evade check.

  • Great video tutorial! Thanks!
